Phillip Schofield has said he’s found his ‘new happy place’ more than one year since his This Morning exit.

After largely remaining out of the spotlight and away from social media over recent months, Schofield, 62, has slowly returned to interacting with his followers.

He initially made his first post following months of silence in May, one year after he quit the ITV programme and admitted to lying about an affair with a younger colleague on the show, and amid an alleged feud with co-host Holly Willoughby, 43.

The dad-of-two later resigned from ITV in full and gave just two interviews in the days that followed, and has since kept a low profile.

He’s now however shared a smiling selfie and spoken about a ‘new happy place’.

In an Instagram post on Monday, the presenter looked relax and grinned at the camera, enjoying the beautiful scenes around him.

Soaking up the sun, Schofield stood in a field of hundreds of sunflowers, captioning the image: ‘What a find!!! New happy place.’

While he kept his comments on the post turned off, he was supported by tens of thousands of fans liking the image within the first hour.

Over on his story, he shared a video of the sunflowers all around him, accompanied to Harry Styles’ song.

Schofield’s post comes after ones focused on his pup, and celebrating England making it to the Euro’s final this year.

Though there have been rumours over his TV comeback recently, he has yet to confirm any career moves, nor has he spoken any more about his ITV exit.

Earlier this year, it was claimed he’s considering a comeback, with sources claiming that many of his former colleagues are believed to be pushing for him to return to work.

‘Since he left This Morning, Phil has been held up by the support of friends like Ant, Dec and Alison Hammond,’ one insider told The Sun.

The source added that some TV executives have contacted Schofield for a possible return to TV, and friends have told him to consider it.

‘Phil is still shell-shocked by everything that happened last year and is happy at the moment to focus on rebuilding his life with the support of his friends and family,’ they said.
