Paloma Faith has shared a scathing message to far-right protesters carrying out violent incidents across the country.

Over the past week, police have been faced with violence in Manchester, Belfast, Liverpool, Hull, Bristol, Middlesborough and other parts of the UK with extremists smashing windows, shops, cars and lighting bins on fire, while also attacking officers.

The riots mirrored the frightening events in Southport last week after rioters attacked police and a local mosque.

It all began after misinformation spread on social media regarding the identity of Southport stabbing suspect Axel Rudakubana, who is accused of murdering three girls at a Taylor Swift dance class.

After heated discussions about what has unfolded in recent days, various celebrities have also weighed in, including Paloma, 43.

Posting a statement on Instagram, she wrote: ‘My message to the right-wing idiots ruining our country.’

She then continued: ‘As the mother of two half Muslim North African children and as a born and raised resident and proud member of the Hackney community, I stand vehemently against racism of any kind.

‘I am proud of a Britain which is diverse, integrated and accepting of all cultures. We cannot scapegoat minorities for this country’s problems when in my experience all they have done is contribute to the rich, diverse culture I grew up in that has shaped the best parts of me and the people I love and adore.’

She concluded by writing: ‘With all due respect to the right wing facists, f*** off.’

The former couple share two daughters, who were born in 2016 and 2021.

In October last year Paloma revealed they’d split up after a decade-long relationship.

Her statement comes after Good Morning Britain viewers slammed how presenter Ed Balls spoke to Labour MP for Coventry South, Zarah Sultana during a discussion about the riots on today’s programme.

Sultana was on the ITV daytime show to explain why it was so important that the attacks were called ‘Islamophobic’ amongst other issues.

Balls then claimed Sultana was ‘attacking him’ while smiling, before asking again if she agreed that it’s important to control migration.

One viewer called the exchange ‘unacceptable and deeply uncomfortable viewing’, while another accused him of being ‘incredibly patronising and condescending’.
