More than 20 years after putting themselves through menial, low-paying jobs, Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie are at it again.

The two socialites– turned businesswomen appeared in the hit 00s reality series The Simple Life, which saw them undertaking tasks like cleaning rooms, farm work, serving meals in fast-food restaurants, and working as camp counsellors.

Premiering in 2003, it ran for five seasons before ending four years later after the stars had a falling out.

After fans spent years begging for a reboot, the pair confirmed earlier this year they were reuniting again to mark the 20th anniversary of the show.

However instead of a reboot, they will be working on a new TV project.

While details have largely been kept under wraps, Paris and Nicole, now aged 43 and 42, have been spotted filming the upcoming show.

The pair, who have net worths of around $300 million (£236 million) and $40 million (£31 million), were photographed at the Sonic Drive-In fast food restaurant in California this week.

Wearing merch from the business over their designer outfits, which they paired with stilettos and even a diamante-encrusted handbag, the stars were seen interacting with customers who turned up to pick up their orders.

The long-time friends also wore name badges and appeared to be wearing minidresses underneath their blue aprons.

However, at one point Nicole also donned a hot dog costume to promote the food items on offer, but made sure to keep her white heels on.

In May the stars confirmed they were reuniting on screen again with a joint video announcement on Instagram.

The short clip showed a fuzzy TV screen, but heavy static prevented a picture from showing before a song started playing.

The pair were then heard singing ‘Sanasa’ repeatedly until they were nearly screaming before they said ‘hi’ to each other.

The word was a long-running inside joke on The Simple Life.

‘New Era. Same Besties. Coming soon to Peacock,’ the caption read.

Last month Paris teased the upcoming series and asked for fans to get involved too.

‘Hey guys, just got home from shooting with Nicole,’ she said in a video posted on Instagram.

‘As some of you may know, we are doing a reunion special to celebrate 20 years of our show.

‘It’s been so much fun and we’re planning something very, very special and I thought the best place to find the people that I would want to be a part of this is here.’

Paris then went on to invite fans to share what they loved about the original series.

‘That show was so special. The best memories ever. It’s such a huge part of our life and we love our fans so much, so we wanted you guys to be a part of this,’ she said.

Concluding the video, Paris said she was ‘so excited’ to be undertaking the project with Nicole.

‘Nicole has been my best friend since we’re 2 years old, every memory that I have is with her,’ she added.
