Simone Biles went viral for the way she responded to comments about her appearance at the Olympics, especially when it came to her hair. "Gonna hold your hand when I say this," she wrote on Instagram. "Next time you wanna comment on a black girl's hair. JUST DON'T." Biles, 27, was working hard during the games, where she earned 3 gold medals and one silver. In a recent interview with People, Biles told the outlet that she was proud of her performance and happy that "the stress" of Olympic competition was over.
Now that the gymnast can take a break from the competition, she's got a little more time to spend on self-care. Her stylist, Brenton Diallo, shared a gushing Instagram post about his client, who sported long, flowing waves, on Tuesday August 6. "What A Magical Morning! Reuniting With The GOAT! My Sis From Another Miss The Gorgeous and Incredibly Gifted @simonebiles ILY BB What An Honor It Is To Do Your Hair. We Go Back Now 8 Years Now And I Couldn't Be More Honored To Come Slay Your Hair When You're On Top Of The World. Ps 8 Years Woof We GROWN Grown haha ❤️ YOU!" The post included a solo photo of a grinning Biles, as well as a snapshot of the gymnast and her stylist.
The Paris champion commented: "gold medal stylist babyyyyy❤️❤️❤️❤️🥇🥇🥇" and shared Diallo's post to her own Instagram story.
Biles noted to People that the gold, silver, and bronze medal winners for floor – Rebeca Andrade, herself, and Jordan Chiles, respectively – were all black women. The athletes sported a variety of hairstyles while they stood atop the podium to receive their medals, where they held hands to show support to one another. Chiles and Biles also posed for a photo in which they bowed down to Andrade, seemingly in awe of her gold medal win.
Biles, Andrade, and Chiles will now have time to recuperate before the closing ceremony on August 11.
