Eamonn Holmes, 64, has sparked concern among fans he posted a video on social media detailing his health struggles, and how he’s finding it hard reporting on the news amid the ongoing violence across the UK.
The GB News presenter, 64, has been using a walking frame and crutches to aid his mobility since he fell down the stairs after a back operation last year.
He’s been open about his chronic health struggles and pain, and is now using an anti-gravity treadmill to build himself back up to walking.
Speaking from the machine, Eamonn today shared with his followers how it’s a particularly ‘tough’ day for him with pain – but also due to the gruelling news cycle of late, which has seen violent far-right riots break out across the country.
In a video, he said: ‘I’m on my anti-gravity treadmill again today. Gosh, it is tough today. It is so tough.
‘When you asked me a week ago I’d made such an improvement, but I regress.
‘Sometimes the body plays ball, sometimes it doesn’t. What I do know is that if I stay on this and do all I’m supposed to do, it can only get better. But my goodness me it is tough, it is tough.
‘I’ve just done basically four hours of live news, that’s depressing enough. All that’s going on in the country and I hope wherever you are, whoever you are, you’re good. Stay safe.
‘Do the right thing, and people shouldn’t be threatened. People shouldn’t feel threatened either.
‘I’m on this doing a lot of thinking. If you’re wondering what’s going on I’m walking in this big balloon, and it keeps me afloat. I’ve got to do at least 30 minutes, and as you can see I’m halfway there so I’ll stop talking.
‘Have yourselves a good day, stay safe, be good.’
Fans and followers flocked to the comments section to wish Eamonn well, as reality TV star Kinsey Schofield said: ‘Thinking of you, sweet friend. One day at a time! You will be rewarded for your determination.’
Katy Wickremesinghe wrote: ‘Sending positive vibes Eamonn. I used to have to use one of those anti gravity machines and they truly are amazing. Your resilience is incredible. Fall down seven times – stand up eight. You’ve got this.’
Marie Gallagher added: ‘You are a great man Eamonn, keep going, you will get there. We are all behind you. Much love and take care.’
‘Thinking of you Eammon keep at it,’ added bec_tomo140, while Instagram user ruthielou79 said: ‘You are doing so well @eamonnholmes One step at a time, each one will help. I can hear how hard it is and how much pain you are in, keep going my friend.’

It’s been a difficult time for the broadcaster, who recently split from Loose Women star Ruth Langsford after 14 years of marriage.
However, Eamonn hopes the device will help him get back to himself physically.
Introducing the machine on social media a few weeks ago, Eamonn said: ‘This is my latest exploit. This is what is called an anti-gravity treadmill.’
He explained: ‘The reason it’s called anti-gravity is you’ll see down here, I’m being supported by quite a big balloon. The balloon holds my weight.
‘What it does is the machine, I can walk and run in this. It helps my legs and body remember what it was like to move like this before things went wrong.
‘This gives me a certain amount of freedom and the idea is that I build up muscle memory and things will happen, hopefully in the future.’
Speaking on GB News, Eamonn previously said he’s been ‘basically disabled for a year and a half or so’ explaining how it’s been ‘horrendous’.
He slipped three discs in 2021 and underwent surgery, before falling down 18 stairs in January last year.

‘I have to have carers to do the smallest, simplest thing,’ he shared. ‘It’s humiliating, it’s humbling, and thank goodness that the carers are available.’
