It has been reported that Lewis Capaldi is back on the market after mutually ending things with his girlfriend of two years.
The Someone You Loved singer has reportedly ended things with actress Ellie MacDowall after two years.
The actress is best known for her work as Jennifer Grant in Archie (2023), and two shorts titled The Proposal and Mohini which were released in 2022 and 2021 respectively.
It is thought that the pair met last year at Universal Music’s Brit Awards after-party and quickly hit things off.
The couple kept their relationship private and were rarely seen together, nor did the singer speak frequently about their relationship.
That said, earlier this year in March the pair were snapped out in West Hampstead, a hotspot for lots of celebrities, and appeared to take a romantic stroll around the picturesque area.
Lewis currently lives in London and Ellie is in Edinburgh. A source told The Sun that the pair decided to end things because they were struggling with the distance.
‘Lewis and Ellie had some long conversations and decided it was best for them to end things. It was a mutual decision. They are still friends and have been talking, so all is not lost.
‘Ellie is still based in Edinburgh and Lewis lives in London so it’s been hard for them to see each other.
‘It’s sad but ultimately Lewis and Ellie had a wonderful time together. It just wasn’t to be,’ the source said.
The 27-year-old Scottish singer has spoken vaguely about this relationship before and praised Ellie during an interview with BBC Radio 2’s Scott Mills.
‘I have a girlfriend and that’s going really well,’ he said. ‘I am a happy chappy, she’s a lovely lady. I feel good about everything.’
The singer also spoke previously about dating former Love Island contestant Paige Turley, who was crowned champion of the 2020 winter edition of the dating show.
The pair both hail from the same area of Scotland and dated for just over a year when they met in college in their teenage years.
In her Love Island VT four years ago Paige said: ‘We went out when we were younger, I was about 17 or 18.
‘We were together for about a year. It ended really amicably and we’re still pals.’
