Country music star Bryan Martin has been inundated with messages of support from fans after cancelling a string of shows unexpectedly.
The We Ride hitmaker released a statement this week, confirming that his tour will not be going ahead due to ‘personal reasons’.
Bryan, 38, told his thousands of followers that he was ‘sad’ to come to the decision.
He wrote: ‘I’m sad to announce that, due to personal reasons, I will not be touring for the next few months and so all dates are cancelled.
‘We will try our best to reschedule dates where it works for the venues and promoters.
‘Thanks to everyone for their support while I work through things.’
He concluded: ‘I look forward to seeing everyone down the road.’
Additionally, The Machine Shop issued a statement of their own, confirming that full ticket refunds have been issued.
They also clarified that Bryan’s hiatus was due to ‘health reasons’.
‘Bryan will be stepping away from touring for the time being for personal health reasons.
‘He apologises deeply for the inconvenience and looks forward to seeing everyone on the road again soon.
‘We wish him well and a healthy recovery.’
In response, Bryan’s fans have sent well wishes, with fellow musician and American Idol runner-up Will Moseley writing: ‘Love you brother! Always a phone call away!’
Singer Kevin Lawson penned: ‘Praying for you bro. 🙏’
‘Take care brother. You got this’, commented scottlecates.
‘Sending love. We will all be here when you are ready to get back in the saddle. ❤️’, added emily36rochester.
One day after sharing his announcement, Bryan returned to social media with a snap from the studio.
‘Late night writing with @iamstruggle @thejdhuggins @scatteredbrains @caitlynnecurtis_’, his caption read as he shared a black and white selfie.
Bryan’s personal struggles have been documented in the past.
Earlier this year, he checked into rehab following a lengthy battle with addiction and suicidal ideation.
The songwriter, whose latest album was Poets & Old Souls, shared on Facebook in February: ‘So … first off I’m fine gonna be even better soon … but I am in Utah in Rehab.’
He added that alcohol and addiction had been lifelong problems for him, hence his decision to take time out to get better.
‘Alcohol and Addiction has always been a problem for me but I’m taking the extra time to get back on right track I hope yall know I love yall,’ he wrote.
‘I wanted to be the one to tell my fans first… so share the post whatever ya wanna do.. it may get taken down but I can promise you guys.. I’m standing strong as always and I’ll be back in no time [sic]’
Bryan is a military veteran and former bull rider from Logansport, Los Angeles.
Signed to Average Joes label, his debut single is currently at number 33 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart.
Married with four children, the country star has spoken about his personal life publicly, including a past suicide attempt.
In the first paragraph of his biography, he recalled trying to take his own life, explaining how a difficult upbringing led to drug and alcohol use as a teen.
He dropped out of high school and then got clean while in the military but, when he returned home, his feelings of failure led to him attempting suicide. The gun misfired.
‘My first song came from a suicide note,’ he wrote.
Proud to have overcome his hardships, he also penned: ‘I wear the scars, and I’m learning to wear it better. The reason why I don’t hide anything is because there’s too many people that need to know that there is no difference between me and them.’
