Noel Gallagher has shared a morbid prediction about his future, claiming he’ll be ‘lucky’ to reach 60 if he continues his current drinking habits.

The Oasis rocker, 57, previously said he didn’t want to live past 75, but it seems the star has had a change of tune as he tackles his alcohol consumption.

Noel compared himself to 81-year-old rock icon Sir Mick Jagger, explaining he didn’t think the Rolling Stones legend was a good role model to try to emulate.

‘Well, I mean, they’ve got to be pushing, what, 70 now, innit? I mean, the way I feel f*****g now, I mean I’ll be f*****g lucky if I make it to 60,’ he said.

‘Just because Jagger is mincing around at 103 doesn’t mean everyone can.’

Speaking to Matt Morgan on his subscription-only podcast, he added he had recently noticed some weight gain, explaining he believed it was caused by drinking too much alcohol.

‘I could do with getting off the booze, let’s put it that way,’ he said.

Last month Noel revealed he was set to go under the knife as a result of his ‘bad knees’ as he made a rare comment about his health.

‘I’ve got bad knees actually. I’ve got to have an operation on my f*****g knee,’ he told Morgan on a separate podcast episode.

The singer didn’t divulge exactly why he was having the operation, but his brother Liam has spoken openly about arthritis affecting his joints, suggesting this could be the same genetic problem.

Noel recently completed a tour with his band High Flying Birds and told the audience at their final gig he and the rest of the band were ‘sick of the sight of each other.’

‘Well, this is the last night of our tour tonight,’ Noel told the audience at Y Not Festival at Pike Hall, Derbyshire.

‘We’ve been on tour for over a year, so we’re sick of the sight of each other. So, we need to get away from it for a while.’

It comes as Liam’s son Gene gave Oasis fans the most promising update yet of the band’s long-rumoured reunion.

The 23-year-old model and musician spoke out amid growing rumours the band were set to get together again, with the 30th anniversary of their debut album Definitely, Maybe set to be marked with a re-release at the end of August.

‘I get the feeling my dad wants it, too. Let’s hope it happens. It’s easier to speak about after a couple of pints,’ Gene said.

However, he admitted while he would ‘love’ to see his dad reunite with his uncle Noel, it has ‘nothing to do with’ him.
