Paloma Faith has revealed that she is leaving X after being ‘deeply troubled’ by the recent comments made by Elon Musk.

The Tesla CEO, who bought X formerly known as Twitter in 2022, has angered a lot of people in recent weeks after making ‘dangerous’ comments about the UK riots.

The frustration from fans has been echoed by celebrities, including the Only Love Can Hurt Like This singer who revealed she was now leaving the social media platform because of his comments.

‘As someone dedicated to justice, fairness, and equality, I am deeply troubled by Elon Musk’s recent comments.

‘I am vehemently anti-racist, anti-fascist, and X/Twitter has become misaligned with these values therefore I’ve decided to leave the platform.

‘Love and solidarity. Paloma,’ the star wrote on X in a post that received thousands of likes from fans.

Earlier this week, Paloma condemned ‘right-wing idiots ruining our country’ as she addressed the far-right violence that has spread across the UK.

In a post on Instagram she said: ‘As the mother of two half Muslim North African children and as a born and raised resident and proud member of the Hackney community, I stand vehemently against racism of any kind.

‘I am proud of a Britain which is diverse, integrated and accepting of all cultures. We cannot scapegoat minorities for this country’s problems when in my experience all they have done is contribute to the rich, diverse culture I grew up in that has shaped the best parts of me and the people I love and adore.’

She concluded by writing: ‘With all due respect to the right wing facists, f**k off.’

Paloma may have been the first celebrity to announce they are leaving the platform because of Elon’s comments but she isn’t the first to call out the 53-year-old businessman.

The Space X founder took to X and tagged Prime Minister Sir Keir in several tweets, writing: ‘Why aren’t all communities protected in Britain?’

The comments seemed to argue against a focus on protecting vulnerable communities such as the Muslim community from far-right attackers.

Newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy replied to a tweet from Elon and asked: ‘Do you want to do an interview about this? You are causing a lot of waves here in Britain at a very dangerous time. Anytime, anywhere. On @Channel4News and @X live.’

On August 9 the CEO took to X to say: ‘Support freedom of speech in the UK!’
