Fans of a BBC series have been left irritated after being unable to watch the new season despite it being released in the United States.

Premiering in 2020, Industry follows a group of young graduates competing for permanent positions at Pierpoint & Co, a prestigious investment bank in London.

It stars actors including Marisa Abela, Myha’la Herrold, David Jonsson and Harry Lawtey, with the third to feature Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington as Henry Muck, the CEO of a green tech energy company.

The second season hit screens in 2022, with the third then released in the U.S this week.

However, fans in the U.K are not impressed after discovering they won’t be able to watch the eight episodes for awhile yet, with an air date not even confirmed.

All they’ve been told is that: ‘Industry season three will be available to stream on HBO in the US from 11 August and on the BBC in the UK later in the year.’

‘Industry is set in London with a mostly British cast and British creators, it’s genuinely astounding that *we* get it like a year after they do in the US,’ user txadel posted on X.

Echoing her sentiment, Louis commented: ‘This feels so deranged when it’s a British show lol.’

‘Grrrrr, I feel like we’ve waited an age already!’ another user shared.

‘I understand there may be exclusivity rights and all, but I feel like content should be globally available by default in 2024. Netflix has been doing it for years. Heck, even BBC are doing it with Doctor Who,’ Adam added.

Meanwhile Jenn wrote: ‘Genuinely cannot understand how the BBC have not gotten this together. It’s a U.K. show?! Eps are dropping weekly?! Make it make sense.’

Others called it ‘annoying’ ‘absurd’ and ‘unfair’.

The last season if Industry ended with Harper (Herrold) fired for falsifying her educational background on her CV to land a job at Pierpoint.

The official synopsis teases: ‘In season three, as Pierpoint looks to the future and takes a big bet on ethical investing, Yasmin, Robert, and Eric find themselves front and centre in the splashy IPO of Lumi, a green tech energy company led by Sir Henry Muck, in a story that runs all the way to the very top of finance, media, and government.

‘Since leaving Pierpoint, Harper is eager to get back into the addictive thrill of finance and finds an unlikely partner in FutureDawn portfolio manager Petra Koenig.’

Writer and consulting producer Joseph Charlton recently told Digital Spy it was ‘fair to say the series won’t shy away from acknowledging the real world, and things that are present in the news’.

‘I think what’s unique and good about the show… in the first series, there are references to Brexit. In the second series, there’s COVID. In the third series, there’ll be contemporary issues, too,’ he added.
