Helen Flanagan has returned to dating with a bang after admitting she had ‘sweaty boobs’ and ‘wasn’t wearing any knickers’ to potential suitors.

Helen, 34, is best known for starring on Coronation Street before appearing on reality shows including I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

After splitting from her long-term partner Scott Sinclair in 2022, she signed up for the latest season of Celebs Go Dating, which hit screens last night.

However, when it came time to try chatting up some men, Helen became somewhat flustered.

The series kicked off with a masquerade ball, with the single celebrities being tasked with mingling and flirting with potential dates.

Actress Helen was joined by former Gogglebox star Stephen Webb, Married at First Sight’s Ella Morgan, Love Island’s Chris Taylor, Made in Chelsea’s Tristan Phipps and Hollyoaks actress Jamelia.

Despite Helen’s best efforts, she had a few awkward moments throughout the event, which included accidentally flirting with a gay man and calling herself a ‘psycho b****’ in front of another man.

When first making her way around the room, Helen was ‘thrown off’ when she started flirting with a gay man, then going on to giggle at her mishap and make her way over to someone else she hoped to have better luck with.

However, after jumping into the conversation by discussing her ex, she then added: ‘I can be sweet. It depends on the time of the month, I’m either lovely or a psycho b****.’

‘Well, I hope it’s not that time now…’ he awkwardly joked.

As she was standing with Jamelia at the bar, the women were approached by two men, who tried to strike up a conversation by asking how they were finding the experience so far.

‘Yea, it’s good darling, it’s just hot though, isn’t it?’ Helen replied.

‘It’s really, really, really, really hot. I feel like I’ve got sweaty boobs now and I can’t wear any knickers with this dress because it would just give a line so…’

Discussing Helen’s conversations from across the room, the experts questioned: ‘Is this Helen deflecting?’

However, they then debated whether this was her way of ‘connecting’ or purposely trying to put a date off thinking they ‘didn’t stand a chance with her’.

At the end of the mixer, Helen chose to go on a date with sports massage therapist Luke after their ‘flirty chat and flowing conversation’, however it was then revealed Ella had also chosen him, meaning that he would be forced to decide between the girls.

Many tuning in found the interactions hilarious.

‘Helen’s idea of a chat-up line is jumping straight into exes and kids. Who needs small talk?’ Apryl posted on X.

‘Helen needs coaching for how to talk to men lol she’s so bad,’ SJ shared.

Meanwhile Hayley called it ‘comedy gold’.

Helen’s return to the dating scene comes two years after she split from her footballer fiancé Scott, after 13 years together.

The pair share daughters Matilda, nine, and Delilah, six, as well as son Charlie, three.

This week Helen said she was looking to date an ‘older man’ because they were more ‘emotionally mature’.

Speaking to The Mirror about what she was looking for while dating, she explained: ‘I like an older man because I feel like they are more emotionally mature, a bit more sensitive.’

‘When I go on a date I like it to be with someone who’s maybe been through divorce and who has kids because I feel like they understand me a bit better,’ she said.

‘I love funny guys, I feel like a good energy is important. The milf needs a dilf!’

Despite her previous heartbreak Helen said she was ‘definitely a romantic’ and still wanted to get married one day.

She also added that while she was ‘quite flirty’, she found ‘some guys get me, or they don’t’ understand her ‘quirkiness’.
