Billie Piper’s latest TV project has been revealed, and fans are already obsessed with her huge transformation.

The former Doctor Who star is set to appear in KAOS on Netflix, an upcoming show that’s based on gods from classical mythology, including Zeus (Jeff Goldblum), Poseidon (Cliff Curtis) and Hades (David Thewlis).

Billie will star as Cassandra, who in Greek mythology is the daughter of the king and queen of Troy who catches the eye of the god Apollo.

On Instagram, the 41-year-old – who recently starred as TV producer Sam McAlister in the Netflix drama Scoop – revealed a first look at her character, writing in the caption: ‘Meet Cassandra.’

Not only were fans bowled over by her transformation, which showed grimy makeup across her whole face, but many also expressed their excitement over the mind-boggling series.

One person on X even claimed that KAOS was already their ‘new obsession’, while another called for multiple seasons of the show to be ordered at once, ahead of its launch date.

After Billie shared the first look of Cassandra in KAOS, Doctor Who fans immediately made references to a character from the BBC sci-fi series who shared the same name.

As diehard Whovians will remember, Cassandra (Zoë Wanamaker) showed up in the second episode of the Doctor Who revival, shortly after Billie made her debut as companion Rose Tyler opposite Christopher Eccleston’s Ninth Doctor.

Cassandra is described as the ‘last human’, despite appearing as a large piece of veiny skin, with eyes and a mouth at the centre, who orders her attendants to ‘moisturise’ her constantly.

So, at the sight of Billie also playing a character by the same name, Doctor Who fans couldn’t help but draw parallels on Instagram, with several commenting: ‘Moisturise me.’

one of the things about adulthood that’s caught me off guard is the amount of moisturising i have to do now. didn’t realise there would be a ticking clock when i exit the shower before i turn to stone. cassandra once again proving to be the most relatable doctor who character pic.twitter.com/2LkZSMkgNY

‘Everyone straight in with the Doctor Who memes,’ @lexi_sofo quipped, while @danish.narra wrote: ‘I went straight to the comments and I was not disappointed.’

Even the official Instagram account for Doctor Who got in on the action, writing: ‘Are we too late…? 👁️👄👁️,’ with three emojis clearly chosen to resemble Cassandra.

Elsewhere, fans have already been hailing the trailer for KAOS – despite the trailer leaving them utterly confusing about what on earth is going on.

‘Ordering multiple seasons now,’ @OBammodu wrote on X, as @Josh_Howell1988 shared: ‘Already think I’ve found my new obsession.’

Another fan called @AngryDigit admitted: ‘Not sure if I’m looking forward to this, or not. But it does have Jeff Goldblum!’
