Following his shock firing from BBC’s The One Show, a clip has resurfaced of presenter Jermaine Jenas that’s left people very uncomfortable.

The Match Of The Day and One Show presenter was let go by the broadcaster this week amid allegations he sent unsolicited messages to a female colleague.

While the former Premier League player has been lying low in the aftermath, he has said he’s ‘not happy’ with how things have ended up.

Jermaine, 41, has also insisted there are ‘two sides to every story’, declaring that he will be seeking legal advice.

In the meantime, fans have been doing some digging and have discovered a clip from 18 months ago in which Jermaine somewhat partakes in the behaviour that reportedly led to his firing.

Appearing on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show last February, the star played Send To All, a chaotic game in which the comedian takes control of a celebrity’s phone and, as the name suggests, sends a message to everyone in their contacts list.

The text is typically of a cheeky or embarrassing nature, as Michael revels in conjuring up stories and making his fellow celebs squirm before reading out the hilarious replies.

In Jermaine’s instance, however, Michael decided to send a photo.

Having browsed through his camera roll, Michael selected a shirtless selfie in which a sweaty Jermaine flexes his muscles after a workout.

‘Everyone you know is going to receive that photo,’ Michael warned as Jermaine placed his head into his hands.

He accompanied the racy pic with the message: ‘Just scrolling through my selfies and had to share! Perfection?’

Jermaine then cringed that he would be ‘most worried’ about the snap being sent to his wife Ellie’s mother, only for the actual outcome to be far worse in hindsight.

He ended up receiving a reply from a lady named Enya, who worked as a producer on The One Show at the time, leaving Jermaine flustered.

She wrote: ‘I’m sending this to HR.’

As the clip started doing the rounds on X, social media users were stunned, to say the least.

‘This video of Jermaine jenas didn’t age well’, wrote lewisa95.

RPMComo wrote: ‘Wow. The internet never forgets.’

‘This is exactly what I thought of when I heard he’d been sacked’, claimed BassicDJUK.

User loftinopanevino even quipped that Michael ‘ended Jermaine’s career’ as several others speculated whether this was, indeed, the moment that led to his sacking.

Jenas, who has been married to his wife for 13 years, was quizzed about his exit from the BBC yesterday in a brief interview with TalkSport News.

‘Look, I can’t really talk about it,’ he began. ‘I, as you can probably see, I am not happy about it.

‘But currently, as it stands, I’m going to have to let the lawyers deal with it.’

He continued: ‘You know, there’s two sides to every story, as we know. So, that’s all I can say right now.’

When asked about reports that he sent unsolicited messages to a female member of staff at The One Show, he replied: ‘Like I said, I’m not happy about this situation.

‘You know, I’m going to be speaking to my lawyers about it is all I can say right now.’

The broadcaster declined to elaborate on what the complaint about him related to, whether it concerned more than one colleague, if he was surprised a complaint was made against him, when he was first aware that a complaint had been made, and when the BBC told him he was being sacked.

He also declined to answer when asked if legal proceedings were underway, whether he felt he would be able to continue working in sports presenting, or the industry as a whole, or if he felt he should apologise to anyone about his departure from the BBC.

‘I can’t talk about that right now. I’ve just got to leave this to a team of lawyers at the minute who are, yeah, I suppose just managing the situation,’ he stated.

‘This is … Yeah, it’s tough, you know. But I’ve got to listen to my lawyers.’

When confirming to Metro.co.uk that Jermaine would not be appearing on The One Show anymore, a BBC spokesperson said he ‘is no longer part of [their] presenting line-up’.
