BBC viewers have just a few days to catch-up on comedy series Colin from Accounts before the second season is released next week.

The Australian series was created and written by husband-and-wife duo Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer, who also star as the show’s main characters, Gordon and Ashley.

Set in Sydney, it follows the pair who are brought together after Ashley flashes her boobs to Gordon while crossing a road, the distraction of which causes him to hit a dog, who they then call Colin.

Although they clashed over the decision of whether to keep him, the pair eventually gave him away in the finale, but quickly regretted their decision and attempted to get him back, which is where season 2 kicks off.

The eight-part series quickly picked up a loyal following, with David Tennant, David Baddiel and Imelda Staunton also revealing they were big fans.

‘I missed it first time round, but have just finished watching it, so good, can’t wait for the new series,’ user headsashed55 posted on X.

The series also boasts an impressive 100% rating on review site Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaking to The Guardian ahead of the premiere, Harriet said that when submitting the original script, they were told to tone down the colourful language, but they refused.

‘I said no, we’ll just keep it super Australian and if people have to Google words or rewind or put on their subtitles, then they can,’ she said.

She also said they loved writing scenes with their character’s arguing.

‘It’s like going for a run, it’s a pressure release valve. It’s good to have a yell on the street and not actually affect our relationship,’ she said.
