US actor and rapper Ludacris told fans he feels like ‘superman’ after raising concerns over his health from drinking Alaskan glacier water.

The screenstar, 46, best known for his role as Tej Parker in the Fast and Furious franchise, first sparked worry after uploading a video of himself taking a crisp sip of glacier water to tick off another thing on his bucket list (or as he called it, ‘f*** it list’).

This happened while he was in Alaska for a gig at the ConocoPhillips Borealis Theatre in Palmer and as Ludacris (real name Christopher Bridges) told fans in his viral video: ‘I’ve never tasted fresh glacial water in my life and this is a first. Here we go.’

After taking a sip, he exclaimed ‘oh my god’. The caption on the video read: ‘So Good It Tastes Like GOD Made It. Well, Because He Did.’ The TikTok post already has 28 million views and 3.7 million likes.

Several fans shared their concerns that Ludacris’ health was in imminent danger if the water he drank was harbouring hidden ‘ancient’ diseases from lurking bacteria since the water was not properly boiled or filtered.

Ludacris himself has now stepped in to confirm he is, in fact, still alive and healthy. In a new video uploaded to his social media from his bathroom on Tuesday, he said: ‘For everybody asking me how that glacier water really tasted…

‘When I tell y’all I am a water snob, it was the best-tasting water I’ve ever had in my life and as I drank it I felt like every cell in my human body was being hydrated and rejuvenated at the same damn time.

‘Listen man, I’m here. I feel like Superman.’

However, not everyone was reassured with many fans pointing out how suspicious it is to be recording from the bathroom. Meanwhile, others said maybe any ill effects hadn’t kicked in yet.

‘How long has it been since you took that drink? It took about a few days for me to realize something was off,’ @thejdeveraux wrote on X.

‘Again, that’s lowkey risky. We got stuff hibernating in these glaciers for 10s of thousands of years. Just drinking it raw, I don’t know about that,’ @blaqpharmacist added.

And @kuhdeej pondered: ‘Him reporting from the bathroom is him saying read between the lines.’

Although Ludacris has lived to tell the tale, it is not always advised to just consume any clean-looking water.

The debacle comes just days after Clueless star Alicia Silverstone stirred up a fan frenzy after eating an unidentified berry from a stranger’s garden – which some claimed could have been a poisonous Jerusalem Cherry.

After disappearing from social media, she eventually returned with a short update to confirm she was okay after her eating adventure.

‘Alive and well! Don’t worry… I didn’t swallow,’ she joked on her Instagram.

Perhaps it’s time for celebrities to stop consuming unchecked sources they discover in nature?
