Chappell Roan has left fans seething at her 'unprofessionalism' after cancelling a string of shows on her European tour with just days notice.

The American singer - real name Kayleigh Amstutz - has come under fire after she announced on Thursday that she was cancelling her Paris and Amsterdam gigs, due to take place next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the 26-year-old drag queen shared: 'Due to scheduling conflicts, I have had to make the extremely hard decision to cancel my Paris and Amsterdam shows.

'I have rescheduled my Berlin show to 23 September. I am so sorry & very disappointed :( I promise I will be back. I’m heartbroken. thank you for understanding.'

She later added: 'Ticket holders for Paris and Amsterdam – refund will come from point of purchase. Berlin, your tickets will be automatically transferred over to the new date.'

It is the third cancellation she has made in a matter of days, after revealing on Monday that she had pulled out of the lineup for Lollapalooza Berlin and Superbloom - which go ahead on September 7 and 8.

Fans were not impressed by the announcement as they revealed they had been left thousands of pounds out of pocket by the last minute decision.

Some had travelled from around the world for the gigs, with one irate fan tweeting that they'd seen the post after flying into Berlin especially for the show.

Others accused Roan of cancelling the show to prepare for the MTV VMAs on September 11, where she will perform live at New York City’s UBS Arena.

They penned: 'Choosing the VMAs over your fans?'; 'Be respectful to your fans— challenge'; 'Girl second blunder in a month?'

I’m literally sitting in my hotel lobby in BERLIN!!! 48 hrs notice !!! Seriously!!! After spending thousands to come see you basically no-show! 48 hrs your fans are already here waiting this is devastating I can’t believe you did this';

'Girl second blunder in a month?'; 'girl berlin should be in two days?? sorry change your planning team.. this is not the first time this has happened and now i can pay a lot of money again.. also im so so sorry for those whose shows was cancelled. That's not okay.';

'Girl Berlin is in 2 days?? I booked my train and hotel? How do you realise 2 days in advance that you can’t do the show?? This isn’t the first time it happened either, do better.';

'this tour has been planned many months ago. what could possibly mess with your schedule so badly that thousands of fans are left with atp nonrefundable travel costs. so unprofessional';

'it's not like the show is in LITERALLY less than a week from now'; 'I am honestly so angry. How many "scheduling conflicts" can you have?? First Lollapalooza and now again??

'I’m literally at the airport right NOW cause I was supposed to come to your Berlin date. I’m so extremely disappointed, next time maybe don’t share these information this late'; '6 days before that really not cool.. some people take plane, train, paid hotel..'

MailOnline has contacted Chappell Roan's representatives for comment.

Roan, born in a small town of just 6,000 people in Missouri, has had an incredible rise to fame in the last year thanks to her burlesque-inspired looks and raunchy lyrics gathering a legion of Gen Z fans.

Her rise to stardom was not easy, as a closest queer woman who grew up 'really really religious', knew no one in Hollywood and was originally dropped by her record label.

Roan recently doubled down on her right to refuse requests from fans who approach her when she is not working.

After posting about 'weird' fans in an angry TikTok video earlier this month, the  artist released another firm statement about her boundaries on Instagram.

After uploading the six page statement, the Good Luck, Babe! singer explained that she turned off comments because 'this isn’t a group conversation.'

'I’m not afraid of the consequences for demanding respect,' she wrote.

The singer likened the experiences she's been going through to what 'every woman is feeling or has felt similar to what I’m experiencing.'

'This isn’t a new situation,' she expressed to her fans. 'Why is a girl expressing her fears and boundaries so infuriating?'

Following up on her TikTok statement in which she tried to explain the distress she had been feeling from fans who meet her outside of her concerts or scheduled events, the My Kink Is Karma singer said: 'For the past 10 years I’ve been going non-stop to build my project and it’s come to the point that I need to draw lines and set boundaries.'

The singer explained: 'I’ve been in too many nonconsensual physical and social interactions and I just need to lay it out and remind you, women don’t owe you s**t.'

Roan continued her explanation telling detractors: 'When I’m on stage, when I’m performing, when I’m in drag, when I’m at a work event, when I’m doing press…I am at work. Any other circumstance, am not in work mode. I am clocked out.

'I don’t agree with the notion that I owe a mutual exchange of energy, time, or attention to people I do not know, do not trust, or who creep me out—just because they’re expressing admiration.'

The singer and songwriter, who performs in drag, pinpointed that she was 'specifically talking about predatory behavior (disguised as “superfan” behavior) that has become normalized because of the way women who are well-known have been treated in the past.'

'Please do not assume you know a lot about someone’s life, personality, and boundaries because you are familiar with them or their work online.'

The Hot to Go singer stated repeatedly that just because she had chosen a career that would put her in the public eye she did not have to accept 'creepy people, being touched, and being followed.'

She compared it to the sexist and dangerous trope of a woman deserving to be catcalled or harassed for wearing a 'short skirt.'

'It is not the woman’s duty to suck it up and take it; it is the harasser’s duty to be a decent person, leave her alone, and respect that she can wear whatever she wants and still deserve peace in this world.'

'I am scared and tired,' she said. 'I feel more love than I ever have in my life. I feel the most unsafe I have ever felt in my life.'

The artist, who was born Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, also asked fans not to call her by her given name.

Roan closed by sharing: 'There is a part of myself that I save just for my project and all of you. There is a part of myself that is just for me, and I don’t want that taken away from me. Thank you for reading this. I appreciate your understanding and support.'
