If you’re looking for something to binge this weekend, we’ve already got you covered.

Apple TV+ comedy Acapulco has been renewed for a fourth season, after winning a nearly perfect Rotten Tomatoes score.

The series follows a man (Eugenio Derbez) recalling his life in the 80s, when he landed his dream job at a glam resort in the Mexican island of Acapulco.

The synopsis teases: ‘A journey back to the 80s through the memories of Máximo (Eugenio Derbez) will prove that even at the glamorous hotel Las Colinas, all that glitters is not gold.’

While Derbez narrates the series, playing the present-day version of the main character, Maximo Gallardo, Enrique Arrizon takes on the role of the twenty-something version.

The cast also includes Fernando Carsa, Damián Alcázar, Camila Perez, Chord Overstreet and Vanessa Bauche.

Acapulco first aired in 2021, with the third season premiering in May this year.

Executive producer Derbez announced this week that a fourth instalment was on its way, saying: ‘Having Apple order a fourth season of Acapulco is beyond thrilling.’

‘I’m incredibly grateful to our amazing partners, the talented cast and crew, and especially to the audience, whose love and support have made this journey possible.

‘It’s rare for shows centered on Latino stories to make it this far, and that makes this milestone even more meaningful.

‘Representation matters, and continuing to share these vibrant stories on a global stage is something Ben Odell and I are deeply proud of. Thank you for helping us break barriers and celebrate our culture.’

The Book of Life and Coda star went on: ‘We can’t wait to dive back into Las Colinas for more fun, laughter, and heart with all of you!’
