Long before Brittany Mahomes ever cheered on Patrick Mahomes in the NFL, she was rooting for her husband — then-boyfriend — all the way back in high school.
In honor of the official kick-off of football season, Patrick's mom, Randi Mahomes, shared a rare throwback photo of her and Brittany sitting in the bleachers during one of the quarterback's high school games in Texas.
"Tis the new season!!" Randi wrote alongside the picture she shared via her Instagram Story on Wednesday, August 28. "This seems so long ago … day one OG's." (Randi shares sons Patrick, 28, and Jackson, 24, with ex-husband Pat Mahomes. She is also the mom of 12-year-old Mia Randall.)
In the vintage snap, both Randi and Brittany are dressed head-to-toe in Wildcats gear in support of Patrick's high school football team, the Whitehouse Wildcats. The former soccer star and her future mother-in-law grinned happily for the camera.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, who played the same position on his varsity team, had quite the high school experience, playing both varsity baseball and basketball in addition to football. During these teen years, Patrick somehow also found time to meet The One in Brittany.
The couple — who were indeed high school sweethearts — wed in 2022 and share two children together: 3-year-old daughter Sterling and 1-year-old son Bronze. Brittany, 28, is currently expecting her and Patrick's third child together.
As Patrick sets his sights on a historic three-peat Super Bowl this NFL season, Brittany is busy dealing with her own drama off the field — her supposed political affiliation.
Brittany has been under fire for the past several weeks after it appeared she "liked" a post from former President Donald Trump earlier this month — only to allegedly double down on Wednesday by reportedly "liking" a comment on her own Instagram account in support of Trump and his VP candidate, J.D. Vance.
