GTA 6 Trailer 2 can’t come soon enough (YouTube)

A fan who highlighted all the faults in the GTA 6 trailer has been humbled by Rockstar’s systems engineer’s clever quip.

If you’re a frequent visitor to the GTA 6 subreddit then you will know just how desperate fans are for more footage of Rockstar’s upcoming title, as even the most pointless edit of the trailer can go viral there.

The first trailer came out in December last year and was a massive hit, but since then Rockstar hasn’t revealed anything new – other than it’s coming out in autumn 2025.

Highlighting the ‘mistakes’ made in the GTA 6 trailer is one way a fan has found to entertain themselves on social media, while waiting for Trailer 2, but one of the game’s developers hasn’t been impressed by his remarks.

A post titled ‘Rockstar dev roasts GTA 6 Countdown’ went viral on the GTA 6 subreddit, with almost 8,200 upvotes.

It refers to a post circulating on Twitter, where someone has gone through the trailer to find ‘mistakes’.

Some examples include Lucia’s hair not blowing in the wind properly, a part of someone’s clothes disappearing into a character’s body, and missing shadows.

Zara Naveed, an associate games systems engineer at Rockstar, replied to the tweet, saying, ‘Breaking news: video game is actually a video game.’ The comment has been liked almost 6,000 times.

Naveed’s dig at the fan has been supported by many other GTA fans, with мα¢ тнє мανєη joking, ‘Definitely not buying the game now.’

‘You people need to go and touch grass. It amazes me how desperate y’all are for GTA 6 news,’ said VanitasFan26 in the subreddit.

‘Bro these kinds of mistakes are relieving as it shows that the footage is not pre-rendered,’ said Ahsan Dhindsa.

I work in the video game industry, and I can tell you that what I’m seeing here is complete nonsense. You’re blaming Rockstar for systems they specifically designed to ensure this game could run smoothly on consoles, when the real issue lies with the hardware limitations. It’s…

It’s unclear if the Twitter poster is just making observations or trying to criticise Rockstar, but posts like these are common in GTA social media circles.

There have also been a number of recreations of the trailer, with one fan adding the main characters from GTA 5 in their version, while another shot the trailer with himself as Jason, going to some of the real-life locations seen in the video.

The next milestone is the release of Trailer 2, and fans have been speculating about it for months, with one wild theory being that it’s due to come out in October.

There is no official information about its release, but it would make sense to ship the second trailer at some point this year, within a year of the first one and the launch of the actual game.
