It is finally back – and fans are ready for the drama.

Season 8 of Selling Sunset is available to watch on Netflix from today (Friday, September 6) and, while the sun is always shining in Los Angeles, bosses have warned that a storm is brewing in the luxury offices.

Chrishell Stause, one of the long-term agents, said: “I was definitely hesitant to dive back into the drama, but also happy to be back together and shake things up. I started this season in a good place with most of the agents, with always one exception, and the dynamics have certainly shifted. Pray for us.”

Chrishell will be joined by Mary, Amanza, Bre, Chelsea, and Emma, who are all back to open the new season.

Chelsea Lazkani unfortunately finds herself front and centre in the explosive new season, as her husband's alleged infidelity ends up being one of the series' main storylines.

But that is not where the drama ends, as there will also be a new face in town for this series.

Step in Alanna Gold – a fresh face at the luxury realtor – who has turned to selling amazing properties after her childhood dream of becoming a vet didn’t come to fruition.

Here is what we know about the newbie.

Who is Alanna Gold?

Gold is a 32-year-old former model, who now is a main player as an O Group agent.

She grew up in a "small town" called Nobleton, located just outside of Toronto in Canada. As a child, her dream was to become a vet – but that dream was stopped in its tracks quite quickly.

She said in an interview with People magazine: “I was originally studying to be a vet, so I was going to university and I got discovered for modelling in the middle of it. I took the opportunity because I'm actually allergic to animals, so that was not a good path for me.”

Her modelling career then sent her all around the world, visiting Tokyo, New York City and Paris. She lived in New York for nearly five years, before realising that Los Angeles was home for her after she visited for a two month job.

How did she become a real estate agent?

When the world shut down during the Coronavirus pandemic, Gold decided to look for a change in jobs.

She decided to take the leap into real estate and started studying for her licence.

“When everything kind of shut down, I knew that was an amazing chance to get my licence,” Gold explained. “So I really spent those months just studying and I went for my licence and got it. When I started working in this industry, I loved it and I realised that I didn't want to go back into modelling. I really wanted to put all my time into real estate.”

How does she settle into Selling Sunset?

We do not want to announce any spoilers for the show, which is now streaming on Netflix but, as with all seasons, it is not expected to be boring.

She said: “There was a little bit of hesitation there, of course (when I was asked to join), and just thinking about how it will change my life. It was this big shift and I really had to evaluate. I did go through all of the emotions but, at the end of the day, I was like, ‘What is life for?’ Just put yourself out there and take opportunities as they come.”

Hinting at the drama in season 8, Gold said she was able to navigate it in a way that she’s “proud of” as she came onto the show with an “open mind”.

She added: “I just kind of made a promise to myself to stay true to who I am and really stick up for the things that I believe in, but also not get involved with things that don't involve me.”
