Weekend TV watching plans sorted! (Picture: FX/Hulu)

Looking for something to watch this weekend? A brand new comedy series that’s been rated 97% on Rotten Tomatoes might be the answer over on Disney Plus.

English Teacher stars Will and Grace actor Brian Jordan Alvarez as the lead Evan Marquez, an English teacher at Morrison-Hensley High School.

It’s not a smooth-sailing ride at the school, as he and his colleagues – including his best friend and fellow teacher Gwen Sanders (Stephanie Koenig) and gym teacher Markie Hillridge (Sean Patton) – have to face the gruelling demands of the students and their parents.

On top of that, Evan has to face being investigated as a teacher, as well as the kids who he’s teaching ‘not into being woke any more’.

Brian and Stephanie have worked together in the past, on projects including the comedy web series The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo and Jane the Virgin.

When the trailer for English Teacher came out, several fans expressed their excitement over the actors teaming up once again ‘finally’ gaining the appreciation that they deserve… and the critics have been absolutely loving their new show.
