A long-running reality show is coming to an end on ITVBe (Picture: ITV)

After six series, Billie Faiers is bidding farewell to ITVBe programme, The Family Diaries.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star’s exit comes three years after her sister, Sam Faiers, 33, stepped down from their massively successful show, The Mummy Diaries, after seven years.

Billie, 34, and her husband Greg gave viewers a warts-and-all insight into their marriage and home life with The Family Diaries, which featured their children Nelly, nine, Arthur, six, and Margot, one.

Cameras were with them every step of the way as they juggled family life with work commitments and also renovating their incredible £1,400,000 home.

Alas, the long-running fly-on-the-wall reality show is reportedly not returning, with the next series marking Billie’s last.

A source close to Billie told The Sun: ‘Billie has loved her time on the show and had loads of fun, but thinks it’s time she let her kids grow up away from the cameras for a bit.

‘She adores the memories she has made and will treasure them forever, she’s so grateful to the production company, but is excited about exploring new options with ITV.’

The insider added: ‘There is no bad blood and the sky is the limit.’

Meanwhile, an ITV spokesperson confirmed that The Family Diaries fans can still get excited about the next series as options for Billie’s future career moves are explored.

‘We are currently in production with a new series of The Family Diaries to air on ITVX and ITVBe later this year and are in conversations with Billie about projects for 2025,’ they said in a statement.

When announcing her own departure from The Mummy Diaries in summer 2021, Sam explained that it hadn’t been an easy decision to make.

Cameras followed her and husband Paul Knightley – whom she married in 2014 – as they raised their three little ones.

She shared at the time: ‘After many months of consideration, I’ve decided that now feels like the right time to step away and to focus on new adventures.

‘I truly have watched all the most defining moments in my adult life play out on The Mummy Diaries – bringing two beautiful children into the world, my relationship with Paul, building my businesses, creating a home together as a family, and of course all the wonderful memories with Billie and my family.

‘I’m so grateful to ITV for giving me and my children the best home movies anyone could ask for, I could never have imagined seven years ago that we would still be here today, nine series on!’

Sam went on to express her gratitude for their long-time viewers, throwing her full support behind Billie and Greg for their own endeavours.

‘There’s no family more entertaining than the Shepherds, so I can’t wait to sit back as a viewer for a change and watch the fun play out while I have a few adventures of my own away from the cameras.’

Since The Mummy Diaries came to an end, Sam has continued documenting her life on social media and frequently shares snaps with son Paul, born in December 2015, daughter Rosie, born in November 2017, and son Edward, born in May 2022.

The reality TV icon also has her own successful, award-winning Revive Collagen business, which as raked in over £13,000,000 in just a few years.

Sam and Billie became household names in 2010 when they joined Towie, which Sam left in 2014 before Billie dipped out in 2016.

The ITV show catapulted them to fame, with millions becoming invested in their lives and keen to follow them online during Towie’s heyday when the likes of Amy Childs, James ‘Arg’ Argent, Jess and Mark Wright, Kirk Norcross, Lauren Goodger, Lauren Pope, and Lucy Mecklenburgh starred.

Sisters Sam and Billie have gone on to appear on various other hit shows since, with Sam appearing on Celebrity Big Brother in 2014 and Billie on Dancing On Ice in 2021.

In November 2021, they began co-hosting a podcast, The Sam & Billie Show.
