Cate Blanchett was sure to turn heads as she flashed a glimpse of her cleavage while attending the Rumours premiere amid the Toronto International Film Festival on Monday.

The Australian actress, 55, looked sensational in a plunging silver and black gown as she graced the red carpet at the Royal Alexandra Theatre while promoting her latest film.

Fresh from her showstopping looks at the Venice Film Festival, the Hollywood star dazzled once again as she modelled the form-fitting number.

Cate oozed confidence as she posed for cameras while rocking the risqué sparkling silver number which featured a slinky black skirt and a black belt which cinched her in at the waist.

The Carol star finished off her look with silver and diamond earrings and dewy make-up.

Cate looked in great spirits at the event as she chatted to and posed for pictures with fans.

While she later posed with key figures from the film including writers and directors.

The comedy film Rumours is written and directed by Guy Maddin, Evan Johnson and Galen Johnson.

The film follows the seven leaders of the world’s wealthiest liberal democracies at the annual G7 summit after they become lost in the woods and face increasing peril while attempting to draft a provisional statement regarding a global crisis.

The film, which wrapped production in Hungary, also stars Alicia Vikander,  Genie Award winner Roy Dupuis and additional cast includes Charles Dance, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Rolando Ravello, Takehiro Hira, and Zlatko Buric.

It had been a busy time for Cate as earlier that day, she showed off her whimsical side in a black suit at the Toronto International Film Festival screening of Disclaimer.

The jacket of the suit was decorated with spoons – the utensil people eat with – along the bottom hem.

The spoons went all around the bottom of the jacket, forming a bustle-like feature across the back where the spoons were layered one on top of each other for volume.

This isn't the first time the Australian actress has worn the utensil people use for soup and ice cream as a garment.

In August, she wore a halter top made of 120 spoons to the premiere of Borderlands in Los Angeles.

The designs are the brainchild of Swedish fashion designer Ellen Hodakova Larsson who sourced the spoons from around her hometown in Stockholm.

Larsson has made sustainability a hallmark of her designs by upcycling and repurposing materials in unconventional and whimsical ways.
