A Strictly Come Dancing legend has sparked hope among fans that she could return two years after leaving the BBC programme.

In just a few days, the 2024 series of the dance competition is set to kick off with the launch show, which will be airing on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

A brand new batch of celebrities including Toyah Willcox, Pete Wicks, Nick Knowles and Tasha Ghouri will be taking part, as they prepare to be partnered up with their professional dance partners in the hopes of winning the Glitterball Trophy.

In 2022, it was announced that pro dancer Oti Mabuse had made the decision to leave Strictly after seven years in the line-up.

At the time, she said in a statement posted on Instagram: ‘Never easy to say goodbye. I have been a part of the most amazing TV show, Strictly Come Dancing for the past seven years and it has been an incredible time.’

Oti, 34, has remained a part of the programme, working behind the scenes as a choreographer while her sister Motsi Mabuse, 43, sits on the judging panel.

However, she’s now made fans speculate about the possibility of a Strictly comeback after sharing a mysterious post on social media.

The dancer uploaded a video showing just her legs while wearing dancer’s heels, as she pivoted several times and struck an elegant pose before walking out of frame.

In the caption, she wrote: ‘It’s happening… tomorrow 🥀🌹.’

So what could this possibly mean?

‘Yess please tell me you’re coming back to Strictly 😢,’ an Instagram user called Renaii commented in response to the post, to which a fan named Alan replied: ‘Wonderful thought.’

‘They need Oti to go back,’ Melissa added, as Renaii responded: ‘I’d love to Oti to come back, she’s a light.’

Another Instagram user called Tayo remarked on the video: ‘What a tease! Legs on legs on legs,’ as Lauren exclaimed: ‘OH MY GOD NO WAY.’

Khi Khi De also added: ‘Whaaaaaaat is it???? What’s coming??? 🔥.’

Some of her followers speculated that rather than a return to Strictly, she could be getting ready to announce her own brand of shoes.

Whatever the post is about, it’s sure to get her fans excited, as Shirleigh wrote: ‘I’m not ready for whatever you’ve got up your sleeve 👀.’

Stay tuned!

Throughout her seven-year tenure at Strictly, Oti became a fan-favourite, finishing as a runner-up with Danny Mac and winning two years in a row with Kelvin Fletcher and Bill Bailey.

On Christmas Day last year, she announced that she and her husband, dancer Marius Iepure, had welcomed their daughter.
