Vice President Kamala Harris' stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, has shown off merch that she made especially for the debate between her stepmother and former President Donald Trump on Tuesday night.

The model is the 25-year-old daughter of Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, and film producer Kerstin Emhoff. Harris' family has reemerged in the spotlight since she declared she would run for president in the 2024 election.

Emhoff has been actively supporting Harris in the lead-up to the election, having previously attended the Democratic National Convention (DNC)—and her support didn't wane on Tuesday night when Trump and Harris clashed face-to-face for the first time during the debate in Philadelphia.

Taking to her Instagram story, Emhoff shared a photo of herself wearing a T-shirt, with the words "DEBATE NIGHT 2024" emblazoned across the chest. "Made my own merch for tonight," she captioned the image.

Newsweek contacted Emhoff by emailing a spokesperson for the Harris campaign on Wednesday outside of normal working hours.

This isn't the first time that Emhoff has used fashion to contribute to her political involvement. During her appearances at the DNC in August, she took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos of the various outfits she wore during the weeklong event.

In the first photo, Emhoff can be seen holding up her dog-shaped handbag, which she teamed with a navy, pinstriped trouser suit and a blue jumper emblazoned with the American flag.

"The rumors are true... I ate a hotdog in all these outfits. I'll be back to annoying you with knitting soon don't worry," she captioned the post. This referred to her Soft Hands Knit Club, a knitting group open to the public that she has had to pause for her own safety and that of others.

When Emhoff took to the stage to speak during the final night of the DNC to speak about her "Momala," she chose a dress designed by a TikTok star. The baby blue, asymmetric number by Joe Ando took three days to make and the strap was crocheted by Emhoff herself.

The designer later told U.K. news outlet DailyMail.com: "Ella was so happily involved and really felt the passion for the start to finish design experience.

"Watching her take the stage, was amazing, she looked perfect! The dress really reflected her range of style and she really popped out in such a classy way."

Proving her place as a fashion icon, Emhoff has become a New York Fashion Week front-row regular. She has been spotted at events such as Proenza Schouler's spring 2025 show, the Susan Alexandra X Rachel Antonoff dog show and the opening night of the Damson Madder pop-up store.

She has also taken to the runway numerous times since she signed with IMG Models after President Joe Biden's inauguration in 2021, modeling for the likes of Balenciaga and Maisie Wilen. And on Monday, she showed off her catwalk skills once again when she walked for the Coach Spring-Summer 2025 show.

As Emhoff took to the runway, her outfit had a fun tourist vibe as she wore a custom "I Heart NY" T-shirt with various words written on it, under a black blazer. This was paired with a black leather miniskirt, a black baseball cap, black ballet flats and a chain-link-strap shoulder bag.

According to fashion-industry trade journal Women's Wear Daily, the creative director of Coach New York, Stuart Vevers, said the spring 2025 collection is about "celebrating the energy of New York City and the spirit of its people."
