Fans have expressed concern as Shakira left the stage at LIV Miami over the weekend rather abruptly after an interaction with an audience member.

The Hips Don’t Lie hitmaker, 47, was dancing to her new single Soltera while filming for hew new music video before she made an unexpected exit.

Mid-dance Shakira stopped and looked down at an audience member. She tugged her skirt down, while gesturing at her eyes and wiggling her finger apparently telling a fan to stop doing something.

Shakira then resumed dancing, but it was short-lived as the popstar waved her hand dismissively before heading off stage.

Sitting on the edge of the stage as she left, Shakira stared back at the audience member, before jumping down.

While many fans were concerned that Shakira paused proceedings seemingly due to an audience member filming up her skirt, she looked in good spirits as she mingled with her off-stage team.

A source told Metro.co.uk that it wasn’t as dramatic as the video looks, as they said: ‘It wasn’t like that – she just realised she shouldn’t stand there and so moved – no big deal – she had an amazing day and so much fun with the video.’

Commenting on the video – which is circulating on social media – fans who suspected the star was upskirted expressed their concern, as @FeimM_ wrote: ‘Shakira leaves the stage after people were filming under her dress whilst she was dancing to her new single. People are GROSS.’

@SkynetWebnett added: ‘That’s truly disappointing behavior. Artists deserve respect and privacy, both on and off stage. It’s crucial to ensure a safe environment for everyone.’

@SHAVA787 said: ‘That’s just beyond gross. Shakira had every right to walk off, no one should have to deal with that kind of disrespect, especially when she’s just out there performing her music. People need to learn how to act with basic decency!’

Shakira got back to releasing music earlier this year after saying she put her ‘career on hold’ for her footballer ex Gerard Pique, as she dropped her first album since 2017’s El Dorado.

The Colombian pop superstar and former professional Spanish footballer announced they were separating after 11 years together in June 2022.

Together, they share sons Sasha, nine, and Mila, 11, with Gerard settling in Barcelona to care for them and co-parent with his ex.

Fans reckon Shakira’s song Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53, from her new album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran is a ‘diss track’ about her ex.

‘Voldemort, that one that shouldn’t be mentioned?’ she said when asked about the connection. ‘It’s hopefully the last song that I will write about this, and to him.’

She added: ‘I felt that there was still something there, stuck in my throat, and I needed to get it out. I played it to the marketing head at Sony and he started crying. I’d never seen a man cry in my studio before.’
