Taylor Swift's endorsement of Kamala Harris is great in John Leguizamo's book, but he thinks she needs to get an endorsement from a LatinX celebrity to really win over that section of the vote.

While speaking to TMZ Live, the 64-year-old Encanto actor discussed how Harris could gain the support of Latinx voters. After being told Harris is polling at "around 55% for the Latino vote," Leguizamo said that the Vice President needed to "be more aggressive," and "court" voters from Latino backgrounds.

"You have to have Latin consultants, Latin experts," he continued. Per Leguizamo's recommendation, Harris should have "Bad Bunny on one side, America Ferrera on the other" in order to sway more Latinx voters, especially young ones.

"Bad Bunny is the biggest artist in the world [...] really huge in the Latin community. So he would get some young folks out there. And the Latino population, the majority of us are under 26 years old," said Leguizamo, who has been involved in several philanthropic efforts on behalf of the Latinx community. "I'm just a little bit above that," he joked with a laugh, sparking chuckles from the interviewers.

Commenting on why former president Donald Trump appeared to be rising in some polls, the actor mentioned that the Latinx community is "not a monolith." He went on to say that many religious Latinos were "anti-abortion and homophobic," and therefore might bump against Harris's platform.

The Chef star believes there is still an opportunity for Harris to win over other members of his community, however. "The things Latinos care most about is jobs and housing," he opined, "and Kamala brought up those points, and she's gotta keep hitting those points."

Leguizamo is a passionate advocate for Latinx representation in Hollywood, and is releasing a PBS three-part docuseries called VOCES American Historia: The Untold History of Latinos. The series, which will be released Friday, September 27, covers the legacy of the Taino, Maya, Aztec and Inca, Latino roles in the American Revolution and Civil War, and the fight for Latino civil rights and preserving their cultural history.
