Controversial actor Mel Gibson made a rare red carpet appearance with two of his nine children.
The 68-year-old Braveheart star — who infamously came under fire for his heavily criticized antisemitic and racist remarks in the early 2000s — was back on the carpet on Tuesday, September 24, for the premiere of a preview screening of his new movie Monster Summer, which also stars Wizards of Waverly Place alum David Henrie.
Gibson, who is the father of seven boys and two girls, attended the event with his two youngest children: daughter Lucia, 15, and son Lars, 7.
The Signs actor, clad in a navy blue suit that he accessorized with a white pocket square, posed in the middle of his two kids. The family all smiled for the camera, with Lucia sporting a strapless, red velvet dress that she paired with sparkly gold clutch. Lars donned a white button-down dress shirt and wore his long blond hair down.
In addition to Lucia (whom Gibson shares with ex Oksana Grigorieva), and Lars (whom the actor shares with girlfriend Rosalind Ross), the What Women Want star is also dad to adult children Hannah, 43, twins Edward and Christian, 42, Louis, 38, Milo, 33, and Thomas, 25. He shares his eldest kids with ex-wife Robyn Moore, who he was married to for nearly 29 years.
