Lance Bass has revealed that he's mulling the idea of having welcoming another baby into his family, as his twins rapidly approach their third birthday.

The *NSYNC star, 45, and his husband Michael Turchin announced the arrival of their twins, Violet Betty and Alexander James, in October 2021, following their birth via surrogate. And with just over three weeks to go until the tots celebrate another birthday, Bass is thinking about expanding his family.

"I am definitely getting baby fever again," the singer, actor, and producer told Newsweek on Thursday. "The kids are so much fun right now. They're almost 3, and they feel like they're going on 13. They're very vocal about what they like and what they don't like, and they're starting to talk back. I'm like, 'Uh-oh!'

"So, you know, I am missing that little nugget that you just hold that can't really talk back to you. And, you know, just trying to talk my husband into at least having one more. But we have, we have a lot of life hitting the next year, so we'll see if we can have that conversation and convince him."

Bass joked that he may "need some helpers" in the form of his twins when it comes to taking care of a potential new arrival. "I need someone at least changing diapers," he quipped.

For now, Bass is navigating a busy household with his children, who he shared have a passion for reading.

"They are very, very honest. My kids are very particular," he said. "We read all the time, and especially at night. We exhaust about six books, and they definitely go back to the same ones. They find their favorites, and they're constantly like, 'Oh, Five Little Pumpkins!'—even in February. I'm like, 'You still want to read Halloween books?'

"But, you know, they know what they like, and they just want to read it over and over."

'Trick or Treat on Scary Street'

In recent months, the twins have been enjoying a very special picture book featuring themselves—written by none other than Bass. Trick or Treat on Scary Street, which was published in July but is now in a season-appropriate promotional push, features vibrant Halloween-themed illustrations by Roland Garrigue.

The discerning twins, Bass told Newsweek, have since added the book to their curated rotation.

"When I got the book in my hands about five months ago, it was a good test for them and and they absolutely loved it," he said. "We have been reading it every single night for the last five months. But of course, it does help that their characters in the book. They love opening the book trying to find themselves."

As for why Bass chose to add children's author as another string to his bow, the star explained that it was influenced by a perfect storm of shared passions.

"My kids were definitely a big influence," he explained. "But even before my kids came, I had this idea for this children's book, and always wanted to write it. But once I had my kids, my brain just started turning [toward creating] more family-friendly content... And that's when I started diving into this book. It took about three years to finally bring it to life."

There's also Bass' own enduring devotion to Halloween. "It is my favorite," he enthused of the season. "I've been Mr. Halloween since I can remember. You know, I was always the kid that threw the Halloween party every single year.

"But I like scary, gory Halloween. My family always really loved Halloween, and they loved the bloody Halloween, and Freddy Krueger, all that type of stuff. So I was raised with the scariest [elements] of Halloween and I love that, because I was never scared of it. It really desensitized me for all the ghouls."

His own passion, coupled with his promotional efforts for Trick or Treat on Scary Street, have opened the door for a special Halloween for his twins.

"With this book coming out, there's tons of book signings and different parties that are going to be thrown," Bass shared. "My kids will be going through a lot of different costumes. So I think we have about eight kind of in the can right now, just just ready to go."

Bass shared that his "new direction" as a children's author will see him aiming to bring to life more projects that he and his children can enjoy as a family.

"As a TV and film producer and creator, I'm always inspired by what's going on in my life and what I'm surrounded by," he said. "And right now, it is all about family. So all the things that I'll be bringing out in the next few years will be things I create for my family, for my kids. And as they grow, different television shows, films, [and] a lot more books. I think this will be the world that I will be in for a long time."

Could this be a Bass TV network in the making? "I don't think I would like to own a Nickelodeon, but I'll definitely create a lot of shows for Nickelodeon," the self-described "entrepreneur at heart" clarified.

Special Anniversary

Away from his ever-evolving workload, Bass told Newsweek that he plans to carve out some time to throw a special celebration with his visual artist husband Turchin. December 20 will mark 10 years since the two tied the knot.

While their Los Angeles ceremony was a star-studded affair—with most members of *NSYNC, and actresses Kristin Chenoweth, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and JoAnna Garcia Swisher (who officiated over the wedding) in attendance—Bass is figuring out ideas on how and when to celebrate their milestone.

"It's such a weird time," Bass explained of his wedding anniversary date. "Obviously, it's around Christmas, so I don't think we'll be doing any, you know, anniversary plans on the actual anniversary. But next year, we are thinking of doing something really fun for the 10-year."

Bass shared that when it came to his day, things were a decided blur. "I hardly remember the wedding; I was just so busy talking to everyone," he told Newsweek. "I didn't even have a bite to eat. I had one glass of champagne, and it flew by within five minutes.

"So I feel like with our friends, where I don't have to worry about vows and all that type of stuff, I just want to have a really nice bash with all my friends and family and just really kind of celebrate with all my loved ones. Hopefully we'll be able to plan that early next year."

In a world where Hollywood breakups make more headlines than relationship success stories, Bass shared an insight into his enduring romance with Turchin.

"It's horrible, absolutely horrible," Bass joked, before sharing a gushing tribute. "He's the best thing. You know, anyone that can just deal with me and the life that I live... It takes a special person to be able to deal with that.

"I'm sitting here in New York, and I've left him home with two 3-year-old twins. He's an incredible partner. I just couldn't imagine life without him. And the best part about it—he's just the best dad."
