Dave Grohl made headlines in early September after he revealed he was fathering a baby outside of his marriage. While the Foo Fighters' lead vocalist shocked fans, some other fans weren't surprised.

Longtime fans who know of Grohl's past noticed a pattern with this situation, as well as past relationships.

Back in 1994, Grohl married photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood. The two separated two years later after Grohl admitted to multiple infidelities. Their divorce was finalized in 1997.

Following the divorce, Grohl began dating snowboarder Tina Basich. Basich, however, discovered that Grohl had been unfaithful, and later, chose to end their relationship.

Grohl then dated fellow musician Melissa Auf Der Mar — the former bassist of the Courtney Love-fronted band, Hole — from 1999 to 2001, though this wasn't public knowledge until she revealed this in a 2023 interview with NME. Auf der Maur, however, did not cite infidelity as reason for the relationship's end.

"It was all love," Auf Der Mar said at the time. "[I] wanted to retreat from the ginormous corporate hell that our music scene had become, and he was not finished yet and had some more proving or ambitions or business to do."

Grohl married Jordyn Blum back in 2003, and the two have been together ever since. However, it is during this marriage that Grohl welcomed a child as a result of infidelity. Grohl has three other daughters, all of whom, he shares with Blum.

At the time of the baby revelation, Grohl shared that he is "working to regain" his wife and children's trust and hoping to "earn their forgiveness."

Neither Grohl nor Blum have expressed plans to divorce or seperate, but the Foo Fighters did pull out of a scheduled appearance at Soundside Music Festival, which was set for Sunday, September 29.
