Kurt Cobain’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain has announced the arrival of her first child with Riley Hawk, the son of Tony Hawk.
The 31-year-old, daughter of late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, wed Tony’s son, 30, earlier this year after dating for more than two years.
Taking to Instagram, the couple revealed they had welcomed a baby boy after keeping their pregnancy under wraps.
They shared a number of black and white pictures of the newborn swaddled up including an adorable snap of him gripping his mother’s finger.
Another photo showed proud father Riley cradling his son, who they revealed was born on September 17 and is named Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk.
Frances wrote in the caption of her post: ‘9.17.2024. Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk.
‘Welcome to the world most beautiful son. We love you more than anything.’
Riley shared the same collection of images and caption, with his father Tony cheekily commenting: ‘My favorite grandson!’
Skateboarding icon Tony also shared a picture of the newborn lying in his lap while he stared adoringly at him, accompanied by a gif of a love heart.
Several celebrities congratulated the couple on the birth of their child, including Michelle Visage and Michael Stipe.
Sonic Youth vocalist Kim Gordon wrote: ‘Huge congratulations!❤️’ while Gene Simmons’ son Nick added: ‘Love you Fran, and very happy for you. the prophecy is fulfilled.’
Tallulah Willis, the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, said: ‘WE LOVE YOU tiny prince!! What a beautiful gift to such special parents. You are so loved.’
Christina Ricci, Jeremy Scott, and Caroline Vreeland also offered their congratulations to the new parents.
Zelda Williams, daughter of the late actor Robin Williams, wrote: ‘Ahhhh! Congrats!!!!’
Harper Grohl, the daughter of Dave Grohl, Cobain’s former Nirvana bandmate, commented a string of hearts on Frances’ post.
Frances and Riley tied the knot in October 2023 in an intimate ceremony officiated by REM frontman Michael Stipe, Frances’s godfather.
She was previously married to musician Isaiah Silva but the couple divorced in 2016 two years after their wedding.
