Julianne Hough spoke out after she was inundated with comments that described her activities while wearing a bikini as "weird."

The Dancing With The Stars host shared with fans a video of her "Sunday Spa Day," which showed Hough wearing an LED mask while in a sauna and dancing, then jumping in a cold pool, followed by jumping on a small trampoline.

Hough posted the video to her Instagram account and addressed the criticism she had received in the comments the following morning.

Newsweek reached out to a spokesperson for Hough via email for comment on Monday.

One person wrote, "Is it just me or is she getting weird lately...She seems off." While another commented, "This is the weirdest thing I've seen in a while."

Others supported Hough and called out the negative comments, including one who wrote, "Why when a woman is happy, confident and comfortable with herself do people get concerned and judge harshly?"

Hough herself admitted, "I don't usually address comments like this," and then listed why she completed those activities and why she wore a bikini while doing them. She argued there were many health benefits to completing them in that particular order, including helping with lymphatic drainage and how, after many years of illness, she was feeling healthier than ever.

"I was full of inflammation in my 20's and had a marker for an auto immune that I addressed and committed to over a year and a half ago. I've frozen my eggs over the last few years which also shifts the body fluctuation," she wrote.

"I've never been healthier or happier from the inside out. Grief, loss. Sadness and fear also get stored in the body and we hold on to that in different ways. I made it a huge priority to accept, express, process and release a lot of emotions over the years."

Hough also told her followers that what they saw in the video was her "playful side," which was "the most authentic version" of herself.

"My playful goofy side is a reflection of how safe I feel in my own skin and with the people around me. Everyone who is close to me knows this side of me means I am the most free in judgement of myself and from others," she wrote.

She concluded her response to the negative comments by saying she understood that people feel scared when they see the "unfamiliar."

"I'm going to continue feeling safe within myself regardless of the outpouring of your comments and have fun with life, which can be really heavy and challenging," Hough wrote.

"So why not be playful and laugh and enjoy the journey instead of taking everything so seriously. 8. Sending love, light and playful energy your way [two hearts emoji]."

This isn't the only time that Hough addressed the hate her video received; she also took to her Instagram stories to further emphasize some of her points.

"I do read comments, but don't usually spend time reading the negative ones," she wrote.

Hough also once again explained that she was "full of inflammation" for most of her 20s and had a marker for an autoimmune disease that she "started addressing and committing to over a year and a half ago not to mention many rounds of egg freezing."

She added: "Thank you for your genuine care. This is what my body looks like in its healthiest, happiest and most playful form! Much love."

In another post on her Instagram story, the dancer said she has "always been this weird [shrug emoji]" while showing an old video of her dancing while wearing a face mask.

The spa video isn't an unusual post for Hough, who is known for combining fitness, well-being and mindful beauty practices in her everyday routine.
