Girls Aloud legend Nadine Coyle has been forced to drop out of a popular UK festival after the reunion tour left her ‘exhausted’.

The 39-year-old singer was scheduled to take to the main stage at Kubix festival in Sunderland on Saturday, July 13.

She was due to perform at 3pm, ahead of artists like Sam Ryder and headliners Busted.

In a last-minute announcement, the official festival page announced 90s icons Damage would be added to the line up – but Nadine was forced to drop out.

They wrote: ‘Unfortunately Nadine Coyle is no longer able to play Kubix due to exhaustion but we hope she gets plenty of rest and will invite her back to a future Festival!’

The mammoth arena tour also includes tributes to late band member Sarah Harding, with her vocals featured throughout the show.

Kicking off the tour in May, the group performed in Dublin before journeying across the UK down to London for an intimate gig in Shepherd’s Bush.

On Friday they wrapped the tour in Liverpool, calling it the ‘perfect grand finale’ ahead of a performance at Brighton Pride in August.

However, Nadine has decided to put her health first and take a break this weekend instead of travelling to Sunderland for the one-day event.

To soften the blow of the Love Machine singer’s cancellation, Kubix revealed: ‘We are just 4 days away from the BIGGEST POP & DANCE PARTY to ever hit the North East and we are delighted to announce that 90’s boyband DAMAGE are joining the Kubix line up!

‘With 9 top 40 hits including Ghetto Romance, Love II Love & Wonderful tonight get ready for some main stage mid afternoon R&B!’

Along with her Girls Aloud success, Nadine released a debut solo album in 2010 called Insatiable as well as a self-titled EP in 2017.
