One of the superstars of the men’s England football squad has been hailed by his Love Island star brother following the team’s victory at the Euros.

On Wednesday night, England defeated Netherland’s with a last-minute scorcher of a goal to reach the final of the competition, where they’ll go up against Spain on Sunday.

Rising star Kobbie Mainoo – who plays for Manchester United – became the youngest player to ever represent the country in the semi-final of a major tournament at 19 years old.

He also happens to be the brother of Jordan Hames, who starred on Love Island in 2019, and was dumped just over 50 days into the ITV series after sparking up a romance with Anna Vakili.

After the win over the Netherlands, Jordan, 29, shared a post on Instagram of him with his family at the match, including his younger brother Kobbie.

‘Proudest in the damn world, Berlin next,’ he wrote in his caption.

In the comments, several other people expressed how proud they also are of Kobbie for his performance.

‘The nations little brother,’ wrote @ghettomars,’ while @bigjohngk commented: ‘What a family🔥👏.’

‘Like I am so proud of this young man, such a humble soul,’ @carlenerosegree shared, as @willtemperley added: ‘So so so good. History maker 👏.’

‘FAMILY 🙌,’ @opusthisopusthat simply put, while @harrysimpson_ hailed Kobbie as ‘some boy’.

Shortly before the post with pictures of him and his family in the stands, Jordan shared an epic action shot of Kobbie running on the pitch in celebration with his teammate Ollie Watkins as footballers from the Netherlands looked dismayed in the background.

‘SCENES,’ he wrote in his caption.

Former England player Jermaine Jenas commented underneath: ‘Remember you telling me about ur bro years ago on MOTDX you deffo underplayed how good he is bro 😂🙌🏽.’

An Instagram user called Torvesta insisted that Kobbie could be a Ballon d’Or winner, urging Jordan to ‘start building the cabinet’.

‘I feel like a proud big brother so god knows what you feel like!’ Lewis wrote, while a Manchester United fan called Maxwell remarked: ‘What a year 2024 has been for our boy Kobbie.’
