Stranger Things fans have been given a sneak peek at 80s legend Linda Hamilton ahead of her role in upcoming final season of the Netflix series.

First premiering in 2016, the science fiction horror drama set in the 1980s follows the residents of the fictional small town of Hawkins, Indiana, as they are plagued by a hostile alternate dimension known as the Upside Down.

It stars Noah Schnapp, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Sadie Sink as Will, Elle, Dustin, Lucas and Max.

Cameras have been rolling for season 5 over the past few months and while the show likely won’t hit screens until next year, viewers were treated to a teaser this week.

Posting a nearly two-minute-long video on social media, the show’s official account shared: ‘Take it all in, nerds…we’ve hit the halfway mark of filming the final season and wanted to give you all a look at what we’ve been up to.’

The clip then went on to show the cast and crew working on the show in a series of behind-the-scenes shots, including of The Terminator star.

Towards the end of the video, Linda was seen stepping out of a car and into a trailer, saying: ‘I love this show so much. I really am a fan.’

Linda, 67, is best known for starring as Sarah Connor in The Terminator and two of its sequels, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Terminator: Dark Fate, with her upcoming appearance on Stranger Things announced by Netflix last year.

Details of her role are yet to be revealed but being given a first look at Linda working on the show was an exciting moment for fans.

‘Getting Linda Hamilton in Stranger Things is a crazy flex, how the hell did they do that?’ user Vic posted on X.

‘Started tearing up while watching this. I don’t want to say goodbye to my favourite show,’ Jess shared.

Meanwhile another added: ‘Season 4 was a masterpiece! Can’t wait to see what they do with season 5!’

However earlier this year Linda admitted signing up to appear had ‘ruined’ the show for her.

‘I’ve watched every season with relish. I just love it. So, it’s kind of, like, imposter syndrome where I don’t [feel that I] fit in there. That’s a whole world set in the ’80s,’ she told Us Weekly!

‘When you really buy into something, you don’t see yourself in it. So, I think, in a way, it kind of ruined the show for me.

‘I never watch [a project] once I’m in something. It would just completely take me out of the reality of it to see myself in there. So, I won’t be watching [season five].’

The actress also revealed that Stranger Things co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer gave her the ‘shape of the character but not of the story’ and she had no clue how the show would end.

‘It takes a lot of discipline to not know where it’s going to go. But that’s to protect it from all the people that want to know,’ she added.

In the teaser Millie also explained how it ‘feels very weird’ to be wrapping up the show after starting on the show when she was just 10 years old while Sadie said they were all ‘savouring every single moment’ before the series concluded.

Last year David Harbour (who plays Hopper) confirmed the season would start with a time jump and wouldn’t pick up immediately after the events of the penultimate chapter, which ended with the final almost killing off Max (Sadie), the Upside Down emerging from the ground and Vecna declared war on Hawkins.

He also warned fans to be ready for a gut-punch after he was told the ending was ‘very moving’.
