The semi-final of The Great British Sewing Bee has revealed the finalists for the show which is set to finish next week.

The ninth episode aired on Wednesday night as the four finalists were challenged with three major tasks to show off their skills.

Semi-finalists, Suzy, Luke, Pascha, and Ailsa were pushed to their sewing limits but rose to the challenges set by judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young.

The challenges in the episode included making a classically Cristobal Balenciaga dress in four hours and 15 minutes.

Then for the transforming challenge, they were tasked with turning ties into a new garment in a style inspired by Jean Paul Gaultier within an hour and a half.

Their final challenge saw them inspired by Coco Chanel and create a made-to-measure design inspired by her past looks

Who left The Great British Sewing Bee?

Sadly it was bad news for Suzy who failed to impress judges in the semi-final.

In the first challenge, Suzy came last, Ailsa third, Luke second, then Pascha first.

In the second task, Suzy came last again, Ailsa came third, and Pascha and Luke swapped first and second places.

In the final task, things went slightly pear-shaped for Suzy who was in tears while struggling with elements of her gown – particularly the hook and eye clasp.

In fact, the pressure seemed to affect all the sewers as chaos slightly ensued and they struggled to get their designs together in time.

Ultimately after falling short in all three challenges, the judges announced that it would be her time to leave.

Although Suzy said was sad to leave, she said she had never felt so proud of herself and was inspired to continue progressing her career in sewing.
