Phillip Schofield has shared a positive two-word message for his fans alongside photos of his puppy Alfie.

The former This Morning presenter, who quit This Morning in May 2023, after admitting to lying about an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger colleague, has been rumoured to be making a TV comeback in the near future.

While the 62-year-old star is yet to comment on the speculation, he shared a hopeful message this week.

Taking to his Instagram Story, Schofield shared a snap of his new dog playing in a paddling pool to keep cool in the sun, with temperatures getting up to 26 degrees.

‘Loving life,’ he captioned the picture.

He shared another photo of the pooch cuddling up on his outstretched legs, and wrote: ‘It’s been a long day in his paddling pool.’

Schofield has recently become more active on social media by sharing pictures of his dog after his departure from ITV over a year ago.

In the buildup to England’s heartbreaking loss to Spain in the Euro 2024 final, he uploaded a beaming selfie of himself in white and red face paint, designed to look like England’s St George’s Cross flag.

Kate Garraway, Jason Donovan, Richard E Grant and Tracy-Ann Oberman were among those who liked the picture on Instagram, although Phillip’s settings on the social media platform don’t allow comments on his posts.

The TV presenter has recently been rumoured for shows including Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, while it was suggested in May this year that Declan Donnelly was encouraging him to return to showbiz.

A source added to The Sun that Phillip had reportedly had contact with TV executives about a comeback, ‘and his friends have told him he should consider it’.

‘Whether he will make a comeback — whether it’s on TV or radio — is still undecided but the offers are there if he wants to pursue them,’ they stated.
