Anton Du Beke has announced a new venture he’s taking part in away from Strictly Come Dancing, and it’s left critics of former US President Donald Trump shocked.

In recent days the professional dancers of the BBC series have been getting back to work in the rehearsal room, preparing group routines before the celebrity line-up is announced.

It was recently announced that Graziano Di Prima had been dropped from the cast, with the dancer saying that he ‘regrets the events that led to my departure from Strictly’ after being partnered with Zara McDermott last year.

It was also revealed earlier this year that Giovanni Pernice had left the show following complaints made about his behaviour by his former celebrity partner Amanda Abbington, with the BBC subsequently conducting an investigation.

In a new post shared on Instagram, Strictly judge Anton, 58, revealed that he’s set to take part in the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship golf tournament as part of the Celebrity Pro-Am fixture, which is taking place at Trump International Golf Links in Scotland.

The golf course is owned by Donald Trump, the former US President who’s running as a Republican candidate again in the 2024 presidential election.

Some of Anton’s Instagram followers expressed their shock over the fact that he would be taking part in a golf tournament that has connections to the American politician.

‘Sounds great my only disappointment is it’s at Donald’s place! 😬,’ Dee wrote, along with a grimacing face emoji.

Denise remarked: ‘Ban Trump Businesses!’ while Diana expressed her astonishment, asking: ‘Trump? Really?’

In his caption for the golf tournament announcement, the professional dancer had written: ‘Good afternoon my loves! I’m delighted to be playing on the @eulegendstour for the @luxe.scot Celebrity Pro-Am in Aberdeen on the 31st of July! ⛳

Some of his followers also shared their excitement by his participation in the sporting event.

‘How proud you must be, Anton, know you will enjoy every minute, well done,’ said Dot.

‘How Lovely Anton, I’m sure a lot of money will raised for him he Charity,’ Pauline shared, while Ruth added: ‘Best of luck.’

A few days ago, Anton celebrated his 58th birthday and marked the occasion during a performance with Giovanni, as the pair are currently touring together.

‘Ah, my loves, such a wonderful birthday serenade from Llandudno!’ Anton wrote in the caption to accompany a video from the show.

‘Thank you to everyone who has sent me birthday wishes today. All my love, Anton XX 😘 ❤️.’
