A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has reportedly begun a relationship with a married man, who is estranged from his wife.

The 42-year-old is said to have embarked on the romance with businessman James Pettigrew, 44, in January.

Laura, who is known for her work on the Channel 4 property show as well as competing on Dancing On Ice, was previously married to Alex Goward for nine years before their split in January 2022, and the former couple share two children – Rocco, 10, and eight-year-old Tahlia.

James also has two children with his estranged spouse Jackie, who was allegedly unaware of their courtship when it began.

A source claimed to Daily Mail: ‘While Laura has been single since splitting from her ex-husband, James is still married, and their relationship has caused his estranged wife Jackie a lot of hurt and upset.

‘She was unaware of their romance in the early days and is now going through a painful divorce, with her priority being to protect her two daughters,’ it continued.

Although initially they kept their relationship private, the source added that they are now looking at making it work long-term.

The new couple attended the Scottish FA Cup Final between Celtic and Ranger together in May, and happily posed for a photo, and are spending ‘all their time together’.

In November, Laura is expected to make an appearance at a corporate event hosted by James, who is CEO of Prospero, a services and maintenance company.

Laura has previously been honest about how life hadn’t worked out how she expected it to following her divorce from Alex.

‘You say content, but I have moments when I feel this is tough, this is hard, this is not what I expected my life to be,’ she told Hello! last year.

‘But I’m a glass half-full person and I have to be positive. I have to be strong. Am I making the best of the situation as I can right now? Yes, 100 per cent.

‘But I do get sad because things went the way they did. I might look like everything is fine all the time and that’s how things come across on social media but no I’d be a robot if I didn’t have those emotions.

‘Do I let myself cry? Yes, all the time.’

Laura began her entertainment career on children’s television, appearing on Nickelodeon. She then put on her skates in 2011 and finished second place on Dancing On Ice.

The following year, she began her role on A Place in the Sun, helping people find their dream property on the market abroad. Laura is also a regular contributor on This Morning but has found herself a little too busy recently.

‘They have asked me to do a few bits and pieces but I haven’t been available for it,’ she told The Sun.

‘I done the marathon that took up a lot of my time and obviously I’ve been filming the new series of A Place in the Sun.

‘It’s not that This Morning haven’t asked me to do anything I’ve just not been available, which has been frustrating.’
