Cheryl brought her son Bear on stage with her during a soundcheck for the Girls Aloud tour show in May, in a rare appearance.

The singer, 41, shares her seven-year-old with former One Direction singer Liam Payne, but has chosen to keep him out of the public eye.

A throwback snap unearthed over the weekend shows the doting mother holding Bear's hand, while preparing for her band's concert at Sheffield Arena.

Cheryl can be seen dressed down ahead of slipping into her sparkly show outfits, wearing a pink tracksuit and baseball cap.

While Bear can be seen with his back to the camera and face obscured, wearing a red hoodie, while his famous mum appeared to be singing to him.

Cheryl reunited with her bandmates, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh, and Nicola Roberts this year to go on a reunion tour around England, Scotland, Ireland, and Northern Ireland, from May to June.

The group decided to reform to mark their 20th anniversary and celebrate their late bandmate Sarah Harding, who died after battling breast cancer in 2021.

The rare appearance from Bear comes just months after fans were overjoyed to hear him make his radio debut, revealing he had inherited Cheryl's Geordie accent.

In April, Perrie Edwards appeared on Greg James' Breakfast Show on Radio 1, where she was tasked with calling her A-list friends to guess if they were sitting down or standing up in one of the show's popular game segments.

The former Little Mix star, 31, opted to phone pal Cheryl after revealing the two speak regularly.

But after dialling the number it was Bear who picked up, asking: 'Hello, who is this?' he asked, while a beaming Perrie enquired: 'Is this Bear?'

'Yes' he replied, before confirming he was indeed sat down as Perrie cheered in triumph, having guessed correctly.

A very surprised Cheryl then came on the line, as Greg revealed that they were live on the radio.

She then quipped: 'Bear is saying "It's my first time on radio now everyone knows me"'.

She then instructed her son to wish Perrie good luck with her new music, which he sweetly repeated.

Fans loved hearing Bear's voice and took to X writing:  'This is so wholesome; OMG they just called Cheryl on Radio 1 and Bear picked up and he was so cute!! He has a little Geordie accent'.

'Aww Bear so cute saying good luck Perrie on her music and hearing Cheryl speak too, my two girls from two favourite bands; He's so sweet'.

Cheryl previously helped Bear sing Jingle Bells as they appeared on a special episode of Table Manners with Jessie Ware in 2020.

'Are you being cheeky', the podcaster asked, to which Bear replied: 'Yeah!'

Cheryl was keen to showcase her little one's singing skills as the duo belted out the lyrics to Jingle Bells.

When quizzed about whether he'll follow in the footsteps of his famous parents, the youngster shyly said: 'Hmmmm', before his grandmother Joan Callaghan presented him with some hot chocolate.

Earlier this year, Bear's dad Liam, 30, posted a rare snap of his son to Instagram sending his followers into a frenzy.

In the photo the singer obscured his son's face as he showed the little one a billboard in London's Leicester Square advertising his new single Teardrops.

He captioned the adorable shot: 'I want to be on a billboard one day daddy'.

Fans immediately rushed to the comments failing to believe just how quickly Bear had grown.

Gushing: 'Bear has grown a lot!; No way that's bear! I feel old; Bear is soooo bigggg;  He's so big!; He's already that big???; He's so big, it seems like he was born yesterday'.

In November Cheryl previously revealed Bear had realised that both of his parents are famous.

Speaking to British Vogue, she explained the youngster thinks it's 'pretty cool' that his mum and dad are famous pop stars.

Asked if her son might make an appearance on stage at some point during the tour, Cheryl said: 'The problem is that I want Bear to have a normal childhood.

'I don't want people recognising him on the street. But he's twigged that I'm famous. The other day he said, "How lucky am I to have famous parents?" I said, "It doesn't matter." He goes: "Yeah. But it's pretty cool." '

Cheryl and Liam began dating in 2016, after her separation from ex-husband Jean Fernandez-Versini, after meeting when he was a contestant on The X Factor and she was a judge.

They then welcomed Bear in March 2017, before they announced they had split in July the following year.

Cheryl previously revealed she was considering using a sperm donor to have a second child but later decided against it.

She said her attitude changed post-pandemic and now that there would be a bigger age gap between her children.

She told MailOnline: 'I was so hell bent on having another before because Bear was at that perfect age. I think if you have that couple year age gap, you can still do things with them together where they're both engaged and both interested.

'Now that the pandemic happened in the in the meantime, and there's such an age gap, and I'm a bit older. I'm not so sure, honestly.'

Yet she didn't rule out other methods of caring for children, noting: 'maybe adoption. I just love babies and children and I'd do anything to help or have another one around but it's not as prevalent anymore.

'Also in the process of the pandemic I looked around at the world and thought this world is a bit crazy. Is it a sensible idea to bring a soul into all into this madness?'
