Silo series 2 finally has a release date (Picture: AP)

AppleTV fans are going absolutely wild after one of the ’most addictive’ TV series finally has a return date.

Based on the books by Hugh Howey, Silo is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi series led by Dune star Rebecca Ferguson and Oscar-winning Tim Robbins following the last 10,000 people on earth living in an underground community protecting them from the toxic atmosphere outside.

No one knows how or why the silo was built and anyone who tries to find out can be punished by banishment from the silo and forced into exile where they appear to be killed almost immediately.

After Juliette (Ferguson) loses a loved one though, she’s determined to find answers about the silo no matter the repercussions.

Season one launched in 2023 and swiftly became one of AppleTv’s most loved shows, landing an impressive 88% Rotten Tomatoes score.

Now the streaming giant has confirmed the second run will air on November 15, and announced a huge new addition to the already star-studded cast in The White Lotus and Planet of The Apes star Steven Zahn.

Fans are buzzing about the news, with Pappa Richard posting on X: ‘If you still have a few months of free Apple TV lying around somewhere… tip… this series is a 10/10.’

Langley agreed ‘silo is addictive’ while Sean wrote: ‘Finally got round to starting Silo on Apple TV lads Rebecca Ferguson is absolutely elite.’

Silo is one of AppleTV’s most impressive shows with one of its biggest budgets.

It was revealed last week, however, the streaming service will be making cuts to its upcoming TV shows and films after going above budget with Emmy-winning Severance estimated to cost $20,000,000 (£15.5m) per episode.
