If you love delving into the Middle of Lidl to see what bargains can be found among the treasure trove of weird and wonderful items, then you might want to keep on reading.

That’s because the budget supermarket is launching its first ever series of mystery boxes, filled with gems from its middle aisle.

This will include everything from coffee machines, to ukuleles, slushie makers, massage guns, and more.

But the catch is, you won’t know what you’ve got until you open the box.

One thing is for certain though, the contents inside each box will be worth more than £100 in total.

And what’s even better is that the boxes will only cost £20 each, with all proceeds being donated to the NSPCC to help children in the UK.

There are 1,000 of the limited-edition boxes up for grabs, and for 50 lucky shoppers who purchase one, there’ll be a shiny bonus coupon hidden inside, unlocking a bigger bonus item worth up to £199 (such as a garden furniture set, or Grillmeister 2-Burner Gas Barbeque).

Customers wanting to get their hands on one of the Lidl mystery boxes can do so from 10am on Thursday, August 15 when they will be available to buy online from lidlmysterybox.co.uk.

This comes after Lidl was recently named as the best supermarket for summer BBQ essentials like sausages.

BBC Good Food announced the winners of their Summer Taste Awards, which recognises the best supermarket buys for barbecues and picnics.

Lidl Deluxe Sausages in Honey & Mustard scooped the top accolade for BBQ bangers. And, for a pack of six, they’re an absolute steal at £2.49.

‘These sausages were a hit with the crowd,’ said the publication. ‘They boasted a flavourful blend of mustard with a touch of honey sweetness.’

Moreover, Lidl has also been revealed as the second cheapest supermarket in the UK right now, with prices that beat even those offered as part of popular loyalty schemes, such as Tesco Clubcard and Sainsbury’s Nectar.

The consumer champions at Which.co.uk recently shared that a weekly shop of 63 items cost just £116.24 on average at Lidl throughout July.
