A Chihuahua's way of waking up her daddy in the morning just so she can get her belly rubbed has melted hearts on social media in a video that quickly went viral.

The hilarious clip shared on TikTok in June, under the username @thechihuahuafamily1, shows the pup's owner peacefully sleeping on his bed when, all of a sudden, the Chihuahua jumps on it, demanding cuddles.

"Daddy, daddy, daddy, wake up wake up! Give me belly rubs! Give me, Give me, Wake up daddy, wake up!" layover text video on the clip reads, as the Chihuahua ecstatically shakes her body around until her dad finally wakes up. "Thank you daddy! Oh so relaxing."

If you thought the pup in the video was clingy, you are probably not ready to learn how the 11 clingiest dog breeds act around their owners.

Dog wellness experts Wag! said that the clingiest breed in the world is actually the vizsla. This Hungarian dog was originally bred for falconry but now is "literally attached to their owner;" the breed is at their happiest when they are right by your side.

The second clingiest breed is the Labrador retriever, who, no matter their size, will always try to sit on your lap, even when they are fully grown and heavy adults.

Third is the border collie, who never loses sight of their owner, and Wag! describes the breed as their human's shadow.

"It's no wonder this pup is focused wholly on you; the workaholic of the dog world was bred to keep an eye on its most prized possession at all times. These high-energy herders want nothing more than to please their people," the Wag! website says.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 15.5 million views and almost 400,000 likes on the platform.

One user, Carolyn Gorman, commented: "What a wonderful greeting in the morning."

Mike from the mountains posted: "We rescued a damaged chihuahua 2 years ago and she does this to us every morning. Not only is she experiencing life, as it should be, she is getting even more affectionate."

Lana wrote: "Awwww cute overload."

Arlurm added: "Mine crawls under the covers and farts! She's so mean to me. Just to get me up for her morning walk."
