McDonald’s certainly does cheap and cheerful well. Now the fast-food chain is trying to entice customers with a new deal to brighten up the week.

From Bank Holiday Monday (August 26), you can enjoy a cheap-as-chips meal for lunch, dinner or that late-night, post-carnival snack.

That’s because the restaurant is going even cheaper, offering selected burgers and fries for just £1.99, available all week.

You can choose from a list of burgers and pair it with a medium fries, exclusively via the McDonald’s app.

‌There’s a big selection going too, with classic faves and roads less travelled on offer.

These include the iconic Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with cheese, McSpicy, McChicken Sandwich, McCrispy, Filet-O-Fish, and McPlant.

This week-long deal means customers are saving over 70% as the medium meal would normally be upwards of £5/6, depending on the meal or the size.

Granted, no drink is included in the offer, but you can always opt to have this as an an add-on or even go without for the most budget-friendly option.

Customers will also be able to earn points when they purchase one of these deals by opting into MyMcDonald’s Rewards.

The scheme means every penny spent equals one Rewards point, so this week’s offers will get you 199 points when grabbing a medium fries and a burger.

There is also an option for customers to donate the cash equivalent of their points to BBC Children in Need, FareShare and Ronald McDonald House Charities‌.

All deals are exclusively available on the McDonald’s App and customers can start earning points on all orders by downloading via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

The deal will be available exclusively via the McDonald’s app and ends on Sunday 1st of September.

It also includes the McPlant (Picture: McDonald’s/Getty)

McDonald’s breakfast is available from 5am-11am, and McDonald’s lunchtime menu is available from 11am daily.

Select burgers include:

  • Big Mac
  • Quarter Pounder with cheese
  • McCrispy
  • McSpicy
  • McChicken Sandwich
  • McPlant
  • Filet-O-Fish

The offer can only be redeemed once per customer throughout the week.

And while the £1.99-meal option won’t include these options, McDonald’s has all sorts of surprises in store in the coming weeks.

The burger joint is making some big changes to its menu — with not one, but FIVE fan-favourites making a comeback.

If that weren’t enough, there’s also a brand new drink being launched and the price of coffee is being slashed to just £1.39 for select drinks.

But it’s not all good news, as the new launches mean that we’ll have to say goodbye to the current birthday menu, which has included the Double Big Mac, Raspberry Ripple Milkybar McFlurry, and the McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse.

You’ll have until September 3 to get your fix of those items, before the return of the Philly Cheese Stack and Chicken Big Mac on September 4.

We’re lovin’ it.
