Over the coming months, shoppers will be eagerly holding onto their supermarket vouchers, keen to save them up for the big Christmas shop.

If you’re doing this with your Tesco Clubcard vouchers, keeping an eagle eye on the number of points you have, then we’ve got some good news for you.

The retailer is currently offering customers a chance to earn double points over the next months, and you don’t even have to leave your house to do so.

As part of Tesco’s partnership with Evri, the supermarket offers customers the chance to earn points every time they send a parcel with the delivery company.

But now, in a new rule change, you can earn double points for every parcel you send with Evri between September 9 and September 30. As every £1 spent on Evri.com, will allow customers to collect two points.

Therefore, the more parcels you send, the more points you earn to turn into vouchers off your Tesco shop, or to use with one of the Tesco Clubcard Rewards partners, such as Disney+, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, PizzaExpress, and RAC.

You need a minimum of 150 points to claim a voucher, which you can do by signing into the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app, or by visiting the ‘My Clubcard account’ tab online at tesco.com.

To start earning points this way, people just need to add their Clubcard number on the Evri basket page and select ‘collect points’. These will then be credited to your account within 14 days.

However, it is worth noting that there is one small catch to this deal — you can’t use an Evri discount code and apply your Tesco Clubcard to the same order. And you can only claim the points on parcels sent within the UK via the website. Any returned or cancelled parcels will be excluded, as well as any orders made on the international Evri site, and on the Evri app.

Evri announced the new deal as part of its 50 year celebrations, with the parcel delivery company’s roots dating back to 1974, when it was known as Grattan Mail Order in Bradford. The business began with just seven couriers, but by the early 90s, Evri had grown to have 1,000 couriers. It now has more than 20,000.

The company first partnered with Tesco in 2021, when its ParcelShop services were made available in Tesco Express stores across the UK, allowing shoppers to send, receive and return items as they shop.

This comes after Martin Lewis recently shared a warning for Tesco shoppers to check their Clubcard account as a number of vouchers were set to expire.

As MSE outlines, Tesco Clubcard vouchers are only valid for two years from the date they were issued – but there’s a nifty way to extend the expiry date by two years.

‘Technically, under the Clubcard T&Cs, Tesco can refuse a Reward Partner order if it decides you’re trying to game the system by redeeming vouchers just to extend their validity – but we tested the trick at MoneySavingExpert.com Towers this month and it worked just fine,’ the MSE blog post explains.

‘The remaining balance is credited back to your Clubcard account as points. So if you spend 50p using a £5 Clubcard voucher, you’ll get 450 points back (worth £4.50),’ MSE continues.

‘You can then swap your points for vouchers manually or wait for them to be converted with your next statement. The expiry date for these new vouchers will be two years in the future.’

It’s worth noting that while there’s no minimum spend, MSE suggests aiming for as little as possible – so going for a 50p restaurant voucher (worth £1 at a restaurant of your choice), could be the way to go.

You’ll need to do this for each and every voucher in your account if you want longer to spend them – but you might want to do the maths first.

So, if you’ve got a £10 voucher it might be worth the hassle, but if you’ve got a bunch of £1 vouchers, MSE reckons it’s less so.
