In the same way the PSL adds a seasonal zing to your morning coffee, the pumpkin spice sex position takes a classic and gives it a fresh new spin.

Let’s face it, most of us are ill-equipped for contortionist-level moves in the bedroom.

Having to stretch yourself into a tricky yoga pose can kill the mood at the best of times, and since autumn is about being cosy and warm, you don’t want a position that forces you too far out of your comfort zone.

But there’s always room to add a little spice, right?

The pumpkin spice sex position is a twist on the ‘cowgirl’ with the receiving partner in the driving seat, although both of you move in tandem to make for fireworks all round. ‘Tis the season after all.

Lovehoney’s in-house sexpert says it’s perfect for anyone with a vulva who likes a little extra clitoral stimulation, but it also allows the receiving partner to take control and indulge in a spot of domination.

Plus, on a practical note, the closeness of your bodies ensures you won’t have to turn the central heating up, no matter how chilly it gets outside.

Fancy giving it a go?

It’s a seasonal twist on the classic cowgirl – the receiving partner just needs to stretch out their legs and hold on tight (Picture: Metro.co.uk)

The Lovehoney expert explains: ‘The penetrating partner lies flat on their back with the receiver on top, legs outstretched forward on either side.

‘The person on top takes hold of their partner’s shoulders, while the other partner holds their hips.’

While you lose some stability compared to classic cowgirl as the receiving partner can’t rest on their knees, ‘by holding onto one another, a perfect balance is created.’

This should give you enough of an equilibrium for the receiving partner to grind to their heart’s content, with the penetrating partner’s body perfectly placed to stimulate the clitoris.

According to the Lovehoney team, you can stoke the bonfires beforehand to intensify the experience.

‘Before you get down to it, set the scene around you; think fresh fall decor, cinnamon and spice candles, and extra blankets and cushions,’ they add.

‘Fall is all about embracing laziness, indulging in pleasure, and really slowing down.’
