A woman trapped between a freight train and a train station platform was saved by a police officer in India.
The woman cut across the live railway lines between platforms at Jalgaon Railway Station in the western state of Maharashtra on Wednesday.
She tried to climb up the platform on the other side with her luggage as a high-speed freight train hurtled towards her, CCTV footage showed.
A Railway Protection Force (RPF) officer, identified by NDTV as Chango Patil, spotted the woman and sprinted to try and save her life.
But he failed to haul her up on his first attempt, with the train striking the unnamed tresspasser and dragging her a few metres along the platform.
Trapped between the platform and the moving train, Patil managed to pull the woman up after a few more attempts.
Passengers and other personnel from RPF, an armed police unit in India, rushed towards the pair.
Patil and other RPF officials helped carry the injured woman to the hospital.
Passengers are advised by officials to use footbridges and other designated walking routes to get between platforms at railway stations rather than trespassing.
