The world’s most iconic soup company has said it may drop the ‘soup’ from their name – baffling fans.

Campbell Soup Company executives have proposed to change their name to ‘The Campbell’s Company’ to reflect their wider array of products.

In addition to soups, the 150-year-old brand also makes sauces, snacks and some beverages.

Chief Executive Mark Clouse said: ‘We will always love soup, and we’ll never take our eye off of this critical business.

‘But today, we’re so much more than soup.’

The brand also makes Goldfish crackers, Cape Cod crisps, Prego pasta sauce and V8 beverages.

But its bread and butter has always been their famous soups – cream of mushroom, chicken noodle and more.

It was so famous that artist Andy Warhol made a series of paintings showing the soup cans in various colours.

Campbell’s Soup was the first company to sell soup 100 years ago.
