Ukrainian drones may have hit a Russian military facility in southern Crimea housing radar reconnaissance equipment, according to local reports on Monday.

A Crimea-based Telegram channel, which reports on attacks on the Russian-controlled peninsula, reported on Monday that local residents heard "explosions" at a Russian military facility in Cape Fiolent. The facility reportedly housed radar and satellite equipment.

Cape Fiolent is located in the south of Sevastopol, the Crimean city where Russia partly bases its Black Sea naval fleet since Moscow annexed the peninsula from Ukraine more than a decade ago. Kyiv has vowed to reclaim it, and regularly launches drone and missile attacks on military installations in Crimea.

Mikhail Razvozhaev, the Kremlin-installed governor of Sevastopol, said early on Monday that the port city was experiencing a drone attack, adding that the Russian military had "already shot down one drone in the area of Cape Fiolent."

Razvozhaev warned residents to stay away from "falling fragments" around the Cape Fiolent area, and said at around 6:20 a.m. local time that the attack was "repelled" with no casualties.

Russia's Defense Ministry said in a statement on Monday that its air defenses had "foiled" Ukrainian drone attacks against unspecified Russian facilities in several regions of Russia, and over Crimea. Six Ukrainian drones were "destroyed" over Crimea overnight, Moscow said.
