Slash has returned to the stage in New York, just weeks after the heartbreaking death of his stepdaughter.

Lucy-Bleu Knight died on July 19 at the age of 25, with the Guns N’ Roses legend describing her as the ‘brightest light’ in a heartfelt tribute on social media.

The 59-year-old canceled a string of dates of his current S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour in the wake of his loss, with fans sharing their support over the news.

On Sunday, the Sweet Child O’ Mine musician returned to his traveling festival tour with a performance at the rooftop at Pier 17 in New York.

Despite rainstorms, a video from the venue showed Slash – real name Saul Hudson – appearing before a packed out crowd with his blues band.

It is not clear whether he referenced his recent heartache on stage during the gig.

Slash is due to perform at Musikfest+ tonight in Pennsylvania, before moving on to stops in North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Tennessee.

The S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour will then be heading to Arkansas before coming to an end in Texas later this month.

Knight was born to parents Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight – Slash first dated Hodges in 1989, when she was roommates with Erin Everly, who was married to his Guns N’ Roses bandmate, Axl Rose.

The couple reunited in 2015 and, although they did not get married, he had a close bond to her family.

The rock icon confirmed the news of his stepdaughter’s death on Instagram last month, and was met by an outpouring of love from fans and famous faces.

‘Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024,’ a message read.

‘Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.

‘The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.’

Her cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Slash later followed this up with a personal tribute, alongside a picture of Knight, adding: ‘My heart is permenantly fractured.

‘I will never ever stop missing you & remembering what a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity & beauty you have always been. & still are.

‘The brightest light in the lives of so many that loved you so much. I find solace in the hope that you are at peace now. I will love you eternally. #LBK [sic].’
